An attempt at a pattern poem based on Psalm 23. Inspired by George Herbert.

Darkness falls
The world fades
My shepherd calls
Where light awaits
His voice is near
I will not fear
He’ll take me back to pastures green, within His Grace
I shall not lack for I have seen His splendid Face
When evil roar
It can’t devour
His life He gave
To keep me safe
Yet He endures
My hope’s secure
I’m not alone
Before His throne
My arms are raised
My tongue praise
To sing a song
Where I Belong

Thank you argyria, There's a conflict of singular and plural in line 9,10, but otherwise a good working of a difficult form. Yes George Herbert, definitely one worthy of trying to emulate.
