"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
I like that prayer.
I always have, even when it ws nothing more than a cool saying that was printed on bookmarks, posters, journals, ect. Now that God has placed some tough circumstances in my life, the words have taken on a whole new meaning. I've learned that I have no problem with courage...I have enough of that to choke a horse!
It's the serenity and the wisdom that I lack! Sometimes, I just don't want to accept that things are out of my hands. It's hard to deal with the fact that there's often nothing I can do. You know what? God can help with that. He has all the wisdom and serenity that I (or you, or anyone ) could possibly need. It can be hard to rest in His peace when you're used to doing your own thing...believe me, I know from personal experience!
Good thing He's always there to show the way.
I like that prayer.
