12-14 now-I've seen bi hit kids around those ages in most cases.

I think I am going to be sick. This is almost unbelievable. Practicing homosexuality and lesbianism at 12 years old.

I can't even process this.

well

if contemporary christian music wasnt so boring and dull for the youth scene

we wouldnt be listening to explicit rock

I respectively disagree. I thought it was so, but not anymore. :) I am totally addicted to most Christian music now, and find it just as entertaining (probably more, because it makes me feel happy and never depressed) than any rock or secular music. And I'm only 19! There was a time I spent 90% of my waking time with some kind of secular music booming into my head, too.

When I was in High School (late 70's early 80's) I went to a church that was very involved in it's youth. It was great because they showed us we could have fun and have a little of that teen "wildness" and keep it clean and Christian. More churches need to be that way today. However one area I disagreed was their stance on our music. YES, I agree a lot of it was inspired by demons and I wouldn't listen to groups like Ozzie Osborne, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and the the like but they even opposed Abba, Phil Collins and even the Carpenters. It was like anything more modern than Glenn Miller was evil. Anyway, teenagers are always peculiar I guess but this generation really makes me wonder. It really surprised me what IntoTheCrimsonSky said. I thought more teens were celebit these days. In my day it was BAD! but we didn't have AIDS and HIV then or didn't know about it.

Hey now, I like Glenn Miller.:p *lol* Nonetheless, I know what you mean. There are some good points behind the whole "rythem" thing, though..which is a standing point some churches take when they go against modern music.

Regardless, though..some of it is worse than others for sure. Lyrics play a huge part.

Maybe it was just the friends I associated with (being not in the Christian scene), but it seemed common place to not wait till marriage. I'm sure there are still pleanty who do..but I only met one who'd even wanted to during my teenhood. Think about the message adults give with it being fine to live together before marriage..the whole sex education in schools..all about "Safe sex", but not saying no.

I think I am going to be sick. This is almost unbelievable. Homosexuality and lesbianism at 12 years old.

I can't even handle this. Don't tell me any more.

 That's just the surface of what I've seen in my time, Nighty. Sadly, I could tell you so much worse. I'm sorry you even had to hear that stuff, though! I honestly hate to see what society will teach and bring in the next generation, eh?

I have seen a lot of appalling things in my time also.

But there is just something about the rape of childhood innocence that is just devastating.

Sheesh. At 12 I was still reading comic books and going bike-riding with my friends.

The thing I don't get is, how are these groups ever going to top themselves? How much more evil can you get? When the shock value wears off, you have to take things to the next level.

When you see how bad the bands have become today, the next level is a terrifying prospect indeed.

I can't even believe the stuff Marilyn Manson gets away with on stage. It seems the further you push the envelope, the more society relaxes the boundaries of good taste and decency.

And the anger and rage that we're seeing. Unbelievable. I will never forget the first time I heard the song Daddy by Korn.

The ending left me literally breathless.

Oh my stars. That photograph. I know you.

Thanks for the Korn link, that song is intense. There's no video though, just a pic of the band.

The rage is coming from having been made to suffer. You all are really out of touch if you don't know what is going on in the world today and how many children ARE raised in abusive homes. Have you heard "down with the sickness" by disturbed? The "mommy" rant about 2/3 the way through is a classic.

What planet are you from?

I had formulated an entire philosophy and ethos of bisexuality by the time I was 13, and frequently "held court" outside at gym class to expound it to the others who were fascinated to hear me do so. My best friend began to realize she was lesbian at the age of 12. Boys and girls in my school were pairing up to "go behind the hill" and kiss and touch and explore at the age of 10. This was normal as far as we knew.

Knowing one's sexual orientation at the age of 12 is not so "fringe". Now, devising shamanic sex and death magick rituals to placate evil spirits at the age of 3? THAT'S a little precocious, yes. ;)

For the record and for context: I am part of YOUR generation, NightEternal.

Keep in mind we were all dressed in black, tons of eyeliner, etc, and one of the kids said "we really can't talk to you because you worship the devil, but my mom wanted to know if she could borrow a cup of sugar."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh my stars that is PRICELESS!!!!! :D

Slayer was about the most evil thing around at that time, and I knew enough to stay away from them.
Not hard to do considering their music sucked. :D No guys, it is NOT enough to put inverse pentagrams on your cover art and run around babbling about a Slaytanic Vermarcht. You have to be at least halfway decent musicians for that to MEAN anything.

And I know you! :) We interacted on another foum which shall remain nameless.

Moriah, I tried to PM you but I was not allowed that option.

Just wanted to say that, for obvious reasons which you bore witness to on that other forum, I would prefer that my real name and other personal info remain confidential.

Intolerance is everywhere, as you well know.

Nice to see you again!

I would never break your confidence. I am told you are a potential Ally.

I have PMs set for friends only. If we add one another to buddy list you should be able to PM me.

I did not think you would so easily recognize ME however. :o For some reason that squicks me. Surely when we first met I was not as I am now?

the whole sex education in schools..all about "Safe sex", but not saying no.

That's because kids aren't listening to the call for abstinence. I'm all for waiting, but studies show that our abstinence programs aren't effective at all.

Check out this article: http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=117&art_id=nw20070803091624491C284350

"...the clear picture is that abstinence-only programmes in the United States have made no headway on reducing HIV risk compared with safe-sex programmes - or even no programmes at all."

Yes, I believe you see, though you may not realize the precise nature of what you are seeing.

But fear not; this is as it is meant to be and must be. It seems the Staff is incomprehensible, and the blind children of supposed Light must have the Serpent in view, instead.

I must away as I am commanded unto certain tasks this day. I shall return later in the evening.
