  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey Guys

I'm Jeremy and hail from Houston, Texas. I'm 32yrs old and feel like I'm going through the same constant routine. I work, I come home, spend time with the family and my dog and then its off to sleep. I work anywhere between 12-16 hours a day. When I'm off, I'm a recluse. I don't like being around other people and when people at work ask me to join them, I always make up an excuse. Mainly the people at work bore me to death. They're generally about 10yrs younger than I am and I have zero things in common with them. Am I weird or do any of y'all have the same situation.

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy
I was thinking the exact same thing this morning: Will I be doing this routine until I retire? :) I think it is comes down to commitments we make e.g. mortgages, partners, family. Once those things are established it feels like a routine. What happened to the 20s when life was an adventure?

You aren't alone.
Welcome to the forum.

well, people would say i'm a bit naive and in my pink perfect world but here what i think
it's possible to change if you want t the only thing is that you need to find the right thing to do
i have admit that i'm a very active young woman trying to break my routine by doing stuff i like but it's also very tiring because you have to find time to do it
you probably get bored with people because when someone is 22 he can be very immature so find activities where you'll meet people from your own age
:salsa course, cooking course ? (sport is too common and sometimes competitive), drawing or photography ?
well you need to find what you'd like to do first and then try to have it
being a christian ,for holidays i do outreach as a way to find what are the things i have talent for
does it help ?
don't be afraid to be honest

lol I just moved to Singapore and find that I have fallen into the same old routine. It is something that I am trying to work and pray through. I think it is an easy thing to do if we are not careful no matter where we are and what we do. I am going to try and step out a little more now that I have "settled". Will let you know how it all goes!

I've often thought about teaching in an International school overseas. Singapore and other Asian countries are high on my list. So cool that you're there!

Life is always the same routine. We are born, we learn, we graduate, we work until we retire, we die. Now of course its different for some depending on what is inbetween those things. Some marry and have kids, some travel the world as ministers...etc.

What we should focus on is what gets our mind off the routine we do? In my case its coming here to the forum, going to church, talking to my fiance. Or in short God and and love. If we think to much about the daily routine then for some it causes depression. We just need to remember we are here to serve God.
