Hey, I put together a presentation on the sacrificial system in the OT, and I figured I'd share it here in case it's of interest to anyone!

God's blessings to you all!

Absolutely! It all culminates in Christ, and through Christ it's very relevant for us in our time. It's a profound and wonderful gift that we get to come before the Lord as co-heirs with Christ and a priestly people, to offer up prayers and thanksgiving for ourselves and others. God promises to hear our prayers and to help us, and finally to bring about the eternal rest in the new creation, where there is no sin, death, or suffering, but joy and peace in the Lord forever! Thanks be to God!

So do Lutherans consider the Eucharist a sacrifice like the RCC?

No, we may call it a sacrifice, but this means very concretely that (1) it’s God’s sacrifice in that Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and (2) that we offer up a sacrifice of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving (“Eucharist” means thanksgiving).
