Convenient for those who follow it, but difficult for those who use it to lead others. All the spoken Words of God we have today comes from Gods' written Word (the scriptures) or at the very least needs to be tested by them to know what Spirit they come from.
thank you again for not adding the word "scripture"if we have no Word we have no faith because it is the Word of God that we are believe and follow
According to the scripture God's Spirit works through the Words of God as we believe what Gods' Word says. Therefore Gods' Spirit is not separate from Gods Word as it works through the truth of Gods' Word not against it *John 6:63; John 17:17
Thank you but I did not add to scripture. Gods' Word as shown through scripture is the recorded written Word of God already shown to you in *2 Timothy 3:15-16; Matthew 4:4; Romans 10:17thank you again for not adding the word "scripture"
What other way beside scripture do we know the Words of God today? Even a direct revelation from God needs to be tested by scripture to make sure it is not another Spirit.
and again here..LoveGodsWord said: ↑ According to the scripture God's Spirit works through the Words of God as we believe what Gods' Word says. Therefore Gods' Spirit is not separate from Gods Word as it works through the truth of Gods' Word not against it *John 6:63; John 17:17
Your response here...What other way beside scripture do we know the Words of God today? Even a direct revelation from God needs to be tested by scripture to make sure it is not another Spirit.
The two quotes above your post directly addresses the point you raised. You did not answer the question I asked of you for clarification above. This is why I believe that the scriptures are the only rule of faith. That is what is true and what is not.Yes of course but you didn't address the issue I raised - completely ignored it. You seem reluctant to admit that God speaks through Scripture and also on occasion by other means.
That early church in Corinth was said to be part of the body of Christ. Yet there were many problems in it. My conclusion is that the body of Christ includes people who are growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The body of Christ are all those who believe and follow what God's Word says (see John 10:26-27). If we are believing and following what God's Word says we are in the body of Christ. If we are not then we have either never been in the body of Christ or if we have and departed the faith and returned into sin and unbelief according to the scriptures are no longer in the body of Christ but have cast our lot with the wicked according to the scriptures *Hebrews 6:4-8; Hebrews 10:26-31; 1 John 2:19.
Back to your question here.Moving on to the next question
Q2. If faith comes from Gods' Word (the scriptures and Jesus) *Romans 10:17 then how can we have faith or be "in the faith" if we do not believe and follow what Gods' Word says?
any thoughts?
Yes, if they are caring for each other rather than what is in it for themselves. My conclusion is that the body of Christ includes people who are growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
correct. Although the scriptures you quoted does not support the idea.Thank you but I did not add to scripture. Gods' Word as shown through scripture is the recorded written Word of God already shown to you in *2 Timothy 3:15-16; Matthew 4:4; Romans 10:17
Sure they do. Do you think the scriptures provided to you earlier are not saying that scripture is the inspired word of God or that Gods' Word is not written in scripture and we are not to live by them? Gods' Word as shown through scripture is the recorded written Word of God already shown to you in *2 Timothy 3:15-16; Matthew 4:4; Romans 10:17Although the scriptures you quoted does not support the idea.
not even closeSure they do.
what I'm saying is that any of the scriptures you provided does not tell us the Bible is the Word of God.Do you think the scriptures provided to you earlier are not saying that scripture is the inspired word of God
we should follow God's Word whether written in the Bible or not.that Gods' Word is not written in scripture and we are not to live by them?
There are many problems as we are growing in the faith and do not know Gods' Word. Paul sent them Gods' Word to help their problems and help them to grow in the faith. That is they were sent Gods' Word and if they believed and followed what Gods' Word says they would not have these same problems because they were sent scripture, inspired by God through Paul for correction, and instruction in righteousness according to 2 Timothy 3:15That early church in Corinth was said to be part of the body of Christ. Yet there were many problems in it. My conclusion is that the body of Christ includes people who are growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. That describes me and every serious Christian I've met so far.
Then we have Gods' Word that disagrees with your words that say; "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" - 2 Timothy 3:16. So we will agree to disagree on that claim because for me only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow them according to Romans 3:4 and Acts of the Apostles 5:29.not even close
what I'm saying is that any of the scriptures you provided does not tell us the Bible is the Word of God.
we should follow God's Word whether written in the Bible or not.
No, Paul is referencing the Tanakh, not the Bible, just like I know he is. You keep adding to His Word. Why?Then we have Gods' Word that disagrees with your words that say; "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" - 2 Timothy 3:16
Back to your question here.
We always want to believe and follow what God's word says,
always keeping in mind that not everything that God's word says applies to us.
Like in Matthew 8, Jesus tells an ex-leper to take the offering that Moses commanded. That's not something that applies to me imo.
