  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It did have moments of great suspense and scared me near out of my seat several times. I suppose people go see the movie for this reason, rather than the retarded story line that makes just as little sense as the first movie.

I didn't like it. I didn't find it scary. The story was weak and breaking fast. The acting left a bad taste in my mouth. And the kid always referring to his mother by her first name always ticked me off, it being a pet peeve of mine.

I didn't think it was "stellar", but it was good and had some genuinely scary moments. However, I'm really picky about scary movies. :)

Oh my word, I loved the movie. And the plot isn't confusing, you just have to go see the movie actually wanting to know the plot rather than just to be scared, because then you'll ignore the plot and just pay attention to scary parts. Anyway, there are SOOOOOOO many jumpy parts! A WHOLE LOT more than the first one! I jumped and screamed and griped and hyperventilated a lot! I really liked the movie, and the two most intense scenes for me (i.e. got my heart pounding) is the one when Rachel slams the door in and all the water is coming out of the tub/faucet and to the ceiling, and then it crashes down, and then near the end when Rachel is in the well and she is climbing away from Samara! Samara crawled really scary/creepy and really fast!! Oh, and that comment by Rachel: "I'm not your *bleep*ing mommy!" I am a Christian and really do not like curse words, especially that one (it makes me cringe), but for some strange reason it did not offend me or take me aback or anything! IT actual seemed right, like I was expecting her to say it, although I didn't know she was! It was just so right! I loved the ENTIRE movie, will definitely be owning it (own the first already)!! Oh, and by the way, I think I liked it so much because I saw it on my local IMAX movie screen (which is seven times larger than a regular movie screen). Definitely more scary on a screen that size!!!!!

P.S. - They are making a third one (because the Japanese versions of these films called "Ringu" are a trilogy), and I will forever be scared of deer from this point on!!!

P.S.S. - The reason many people think it is better than the first one is because they got a new director for this one. This one is directed by the man who filmed all three "Ringu" movies in Japan, so he knows the story very well. NOT to say that "The Ring" (the first one) is bad, I love it, very creepy, but this is why I like the second one better!
