The Ressurection

Our house group studied Acts 2 14-41
Questions were:
In this first evangelic sermon what ate the points that Peter emphasised most?
Men of Israel with the help of wicked men put Jesus to death by nailing him to the cross. A need for baptism.
Why is the ressurection of Jesus so important in defending the Christian faith?
It shows Jesus imortality. Mat 22 v 31 and 32
What does the resurrection throw on other questions like
Is there a God? helps to show non believersthat the whole Christian message is almost provable. Maybe not complete proof but we have the Bible and all the evidence of archeaological digs.
Who is Jesus? showing he is the son of God

Yes, the resurrection had to happen to show people that God is who He says He is. I believe also that Jesus dying on the cross and His resurrection is symbolic of the Christian faith, because as Paul so eloquintly explains it, dying to sin (putting off the old man) and being born again in the Spirit of God (resurrection).

It seems that resurrection is not only for proof or symbol, but it was an essential part of our salvation.

1PE 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1PE 3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

ROM 6:5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.

Christ's resurrection is the guarantee of our resurrection. We are his body, so if He got raised from the dead, so will we. (Just like we died with Him when He died on the cross.)

1TH 4:14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

COL 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Col 2:20)

Jesus intercedes for us before His father. If he wasn't resurrected, He wouldn't be able to go back to heaven and intercede for us.
