Forgiveness comes from God. Forgiveness requires repentence. Repentence means a sincere promise of not to sin again at the point one repents, though he will inevitably sin again later on. Then repent again and look for God's forgiveness till you can get rid of the same kind of sin completely. Striving for holiness is part of our mission as Christians.

That's not why they wanted Him dead. He never once committed a sin, ever.

No, he didn't.
But in the minds of the religious leaders, he had broken the Sabbath, told them to destroy the temple and committed the far greater sin of blasphemy - claiming to be God.
