The political climate and the divisiveness has been heartbreaking to me to the point I'm angry with the Lord at times, although in a healthy way. It is rather painful and depressing to be angry with the Lord. I need a good friend to help me get through.
I'm reminded of a program I watched as a child and you've probably heard of it. Looney Tunes had a wealth of life lessons if you paid attention. I was always disturbed by Wiley E. Coyote and his fixation on The Road Runner. In the beginning you don't expect the calamity but after a while you see a pattern and tell him to stop but he persists in his folly. No matter how many times he careens off a cliff or an anvil flattens him he never quits.
Obsession was a running theme through the show that was demonstrated through different characters. The end result was always the same. It led to their undoing. The bible tells us there is a way
which seems right to a man
and appears straight before him, but its end is the way of death. And that's what happened.
The Lord isn't responsible for the climate and adversity is a truth serum when we view it properly. It doesn't bring out the best in us as some suggest. It exposes what's already there. They possessed the ability to be unhinged for the
right cause but needed a trigger to bring it out. Enter Trump, Obama, Hilary, etc and we're boiling. Or maybe not.
When you mature in the Lord you're able to confront your dichotomies. I may like 'the person' but my spirit knows their behavior doesn't coincide with the Lord's or what He represents. But when you're unable to do that and seek a savior in the natural that aligns with your biases you're headed for a fall.
The remedy is two-fold. We must be willing to admit our fear and uncertainty and how it strengthens our weaknesses if left unchecked. The political wrangling is their way of expressing their frustration and a want to wrest control and establish a theocracy. But the Lord isn't in it.
When we're rich in the word we take our thoughts and emotions captive and weigh them against His precepts for clarity and recalibration. But we won't restore balance until we acknowledge what hurts and the steps we've taken outside of cross to bring it to a close.
The Lord is good. He said these things will happen. It is a blessing to be alive to see the prophecies unfold but this is also becoming too heavy for me to witness what's going on I sometimes wish He rather take my life.
Why would you wish for that when you're needed elsewhere? That's a glorious assignment! There's something or someone who needs your presence for such a time as this. Rejoice that He counted you worthy to stand and serve during this season.
He also said that He had come not to bring peace to the earth, but a sword, a weapon which divides and severs. And promised His peace in the midst of it all to those who believe. I'm understanding what prophets went through being watchmen.
I'm largely unbothered for the most part. I understand cause and effect and the spiritual principles embedded in those teachings. How can I be upset at someone's diligence or persistence? Even when the result is bad? He sowed and reaped what he intended and if I do the same I'll have a harvest too.
You have to move beyond emotion to see the nuggets. They prosper because they're focused. Distraction is for the world not them. You respond to that by playing offense against yourself and rooting out the things that slow your pace with God. When you set them aside you can run with incredible speed as if you're being carried on the Wind.
Therefore I do not run without a definite goal; I do not flail around like one beating the air [just shadow boxing]. But [like a boxer] I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave...
I follow Philippians 4:8 as did the Lord and His disciples. When I consider someone to be a greater prophet than me, I quietly listen and don't engage much on the things I tend to disagree with them. You may have noticed that about me.
I notice many things. But all acknowledgments have their time and season. ;-)
I believe debate for debate's sake is unprofitable and rarely edifying. Enrichment should be the goal. We should be bettered through our discourse. Agreement is many layered and if we strive to hear a yes or have our opinions validated we may miss important truths, something that challenges us or reinforces our position.
We see in part and know in part and things of God are purposeful. There are some subjects the Lord unpacks for one He hasn't broached with the next. It isn't always because of their walk or lack of maturity. The more we know the more our battles increase but we're able to face them when we move in His cadence.
I'm making every effort to keep the peace while I must fight for His Kingdom. I yearn for the days when God's people shall live together in unity, be of one mind, having everything in common. This is His desire. I seek your counsel and prayers. Thank you.
I find it helpful to spend time alone and away from discussions on certain topics without vetting the audience. I have my fly on the wall moments where I'll read without responding. That's usually when I'm taking the temperature to gauge how far things have gone and making adjustments.
I've heard a lot of disconcerting things from believers and I'm more reserved in my fellowship than before. I understand the domino effect of wrong thinking and where it leads. Especially when you're guided by deceptive teachings, personalities and entities.
During the pandemic there was an anonymous hotline the government setup for tips. People were calling in and reporting their neighbors for leaving home, having gatherings, being without a mask and so on. I would never do the same but in their mind it was right.
I know I'm needed here and that influences my walk and connections. We can't bring everything to our bosom because there's vipers in the mix. We must be like Daniel and keep company with kindred spirits.
Do not yearn for the days when we'll live as one. Endeavor to be one we'll remember and celebrate when you're gone. Be impactful for the Kingdom. Never mind tomorrow. It has greater challenges than we face today but He called you to this period.
Make your epitaph what you did for Love. There's nothing better than knowing you've made a difference and the world is bettered by your presence. Lift your head you have work to do. *smooch*
Joseph is a fruitful bough (a main branch of the vine), A fruitful bough by a spring (a well, a fountain); Its branches run over the wall [influencing others]. “The [skilled] archers have bitterly attacked and provoked him; They have shot [at him] and harassed “But his bow remained firm and steady [in the Strength that does not fail].
For his arms were made strong and agile By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (By the name of the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), by the God of your father who will help you, by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that crouches beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
The blessings of your father Are greater than the blessings of my ancestors [Abraham and Isaac] Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills; They shall be on the head of Joseph, Even on the crown of the head of him who was the distinguished one and the one who is prince among (separate from) his brothers.
When you forget who you are pray those words in remembrance.
