  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Positive thought for the day...

Was just reminded as I was sitting here, of the scripture God gave me just over 4 years ago. At the time I was going thru a really difficult time, and when he gave it to me, I knew it was a promise for me, but thought it was, at the time, for the next two years. Just recently, I was going thru a couple of things in a plastic crate, and came across a local Phone Directory from 2010. Was about to throw it into the recycle. Then I noticed, barely sticking out between the pages in the phone book, was a small, torn piece of paper, and when I read it, it was the scripture God had given me back during that difficult time! I dont know who wrote it on the piece of paper, and I do not remember anything about it. I believe I it was not a coincidence that I found it that day. It was a reminder of that promise God gave to me, and I believe its for now, and the coming year.

Not long after God gave me that scripture a few years ago, one of my close friends, who does photography, set that scripture into photos for me. I had no idea she had done it, so when the photos arrived from the USA, I opened the letter, and sat in my car and cried. They now sit in frames on my mantlepiece in my loungeroom. The photographer was Tins(she started this thread). Here they are the photos, not in the actual frames).

Btw, the scripture is Isaiah 61:1-3. Funny thing is, the scrap of paper I found included verse 4 as well.

That is an awesome story. God is always there to lift us up, and isn't it wonderful when he uses friends to do it!! Great story!

I'm blessed just to be able to bless others...it really invigorates me!

Positive thought of the day...umm..I am so thankful that I did not have anywhere to be today. I had a crazy unexpected night at work, so being able to sleep today was a blessing.

Today was a great day because I figured out how to make a pizza that I can eat! I'm allergic to wheat and milk and VERY allergic to eggs. I missed pizza!

I'm also happy because I'm almost at the end of a one-month prayer challenge a teacher gave me. And I've stuck with it! :)

Fair dinkum?! Thats AWESOME!!!!! Now I reeally wanna see the tatt with the scripture over it! Can we puleeeze see a photo?! :D
Well there's a little problem with that. You see it's a broken heart with a flower growing out it with a crown of thorns wrapped around it binding it together. So you can see how Isaiah 61:1-11 applies. The problem comes being that the tatt is a heart I had it put over my heart and I don't have a pic that doesn't include my fat white belly. Bahahaha!!!

Lol!! ^_^ I thought it must have been on your arm!! :D

It sounds awesome!!

Ive had my second tattoo planned for about two years, but have to get someone to design it for me. It incorporates My boys names, a vine, butterfly, and Jesus. I can even picture it in mah head...but if I try drawing it it will look like a pic that a kindergarten kid has drawn.....not quite the look I'm after! :D
