I would think creating something to fail isn't good imo.

Thanks.
The principle rule of apologetics is to cherry-pick the "proof-texts" that support YOUR own doctrine.
Good work.
Also known as citations for your position. Verses that inherently contradict a universal salvation for all people which includes those who reject Christ or die in their sin. Verses that speak of condemnation and destruction. It's not cherry picking, there's a lot more. Feel free to refute the ones there if you want, I would like to hear your take on them.

Yous seem to miss the point, in order to support your universal salvation theory.

The verse doe not speak, it is John who is speaking, and in the same epistle John lists the works or requirements (some of) for salvation.

“”As if the verse can't possibly mean what it plainly says. (sigh)”” John means precisely what he has said, taking the whole epistle to say what he means.

“”The Bible can't talk? News to me. Bad news, frankly.”” The Bible OT, is full of Prophets speaking, Moses speaking, Mathematicians/scribes speaking, and like John they take all the verses to say what they say.

John has mislead no one; people who take a verse out of his epistle and misuse that verse to jack up a false doctrine like universal salvation, they mislead.

“”Did someone have a gun to his head to force him to add the words, "not only for ours"? Doubtful.””

That is not what happened; what happen is, someone has taken the epistle of John, leaving one verse and throwing the rest in the discard, and leaving the apostle looking foolish. Adding and subtracting from scripture is a serious offence.

“”Conditional grace?
That's quite a list. Will anyone be saved?
Frankly, none of that can be qualified as the only "means of salvation".
As if we could save ourselves. (nope)””

Seems like Satan has said this, “If you disregard God you will not surely die”.

The only means of salvation is the covenant and this re quires God do more than die and it requires men do more than be righteous.

Very poetic.
But too long to embroider on a pillow. Maybe a really looooooooooooong pillow?
