THREAD: The Phantom (New Words)
NAME: Arik Katriel--referred to as The Phantom
AGE: 31
GENDER: Male
RACE: Human
RELIGION: Religion? The Phantom? Ha!
APPEARANCE: Deep black hair that is kept short. His eyes are a deep kind of green color, but are always filled with hatred and anger. His skin is pale from being hidden from the sun. He was born with a severely disfigured face, so now he wears a black mask over the top portion of his face to hide his features. He also always wears black to help him blend into the darkness of night, which is when he usually is about.
WEAPONS: His weapon of choice is a noose, which he used for his first murder. He also has a long knife and a crossbow he will use when circumstances don’t allow for use of the former. He is more likely to try and catch is victim by surprise or from a distance.
PERSONALITY: He hates everyone accept for a young girl whom he has been in love with for years. He kills anyone and everyone who does anything to her, or keeps him from getting to her. He is very intelligent and inventive. This coupled with his sneaky habits have led the people to believe he is some sort of sorcerer. He finds great joy in tormenting people and even in the act of killing them.
BACKGROUND: When he was born, the people thought that he was a changeling and threw him out to die. He was found by a traveling gypsy troupe that raised him physically, but never loved him, as a family should. From them he received the magic of illusions, a small wooden flute, and a hatred for the human race. Often times they would use his hideousness as morbid attraction for curious townspeople. Eventually he became so embittered toward the gypsies that he made a noose and strangled the leader to death and escaped into the night. This would be the first of many murders that the man who would be known as the Phantom committed.
He eventually found some old forgotten catacombs in a cemetery that he resided in. Using his intellect and the tricks he learned from the gypsies, he redesigned them so that they were filled with booby traps and secret passages. It was from there that he conducted his reign of terror on the people. The little flute had most likely been made for merriment but now struck terror in anyone who happened to hear its melancholy notes.
Strangely enough, this dark character discovered the Lady Karmina Layl and developed a deep passion for her. Since he does not go out in the open very often except for sinister reasons, he has a pet raven that he uses to send messages to people.
