Great Scriptures Gerry! I think these two here can help show us that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.

The first one when it states "by His Spirit" and also the way the second one reads so plainly "Holy Spirit of God"

Then in Matthew we are shown before the birth of Christ that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 1:20-23 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

In the short list I presented on the Holy Spirit being a person, this is one of the main ones I left off. I am delighted you brought this one up, for this one gets deep and is rich with theological Truths, we shall explore, I hope, in depth soon.

Hello there Gerry! Long time no see! :) Hello Quaff! Hello everyone :D

My understanding of the Holy Spirit is not perfect... but I have always thought that He has a lot more power than we allow Him to have. If we gave Him more power by submitting to Him more often, I think that we would all learn more about who He actually is. Have a great day!

Hey sbbqb7n16,

I don't think any of us have a perfect understanding of the Holy Spirit.  You pretty much hit the nail on the head, He has more power than we allow Him to have.

Because of our fear we can keep Him from speaking through us to those who need to hear.  Because of pride we can keep Him from moving in our life.

Submission . . .oooooh, now that's a big word.  Submission to do whatever He tells us, no matter how much it offends our mind.

You have a great day too!

Hmmmm. I feel the Holy Spirit much closer than I used to, and KNOW that the Spirit delivers comfort. It has taken me tribulations and trials to feel the Spirit working in my life, but I have given thanks to the Lord that it brought me closer.

I have felt the Holy Spirit deliver complete comfort in minutes when I needed it most. I have had Him open my eyes to things I would have never seen had I not asked for assistance. I have had Him gore me to the quick for things that I had done or thought that I knew I should not have.

And it's GREAT!

Cheers and God Bless!
