  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

what do you think about people who won't watch it.

i've gotten remarks like, i know what happens, from christians also.
If you're going to buy The Passion of the Christ DVD, buy it today. Show Hollywood how successful a great Christian film can be by helping break the record for DVD sales on the first day/week (switch your message to be applicable for the day you post).

The movie studios only look at big numbers and sales when they decide what kind of films to make. We showed them that we could make The Passion a huge success in theatres, and now it's time for the DVD.

Get out to your local retail store and buy your copy today!

I wasn't sure if it was a Christian thing to watch it but I though if it cements home just what Jesus endured for us it's not that bad.

So I watched it and I think I cried for most of it. A lot of the times I thought to myself "Jesus, how could you suffer so much for us?" It was very violent but got the message home. It's not like it glorified the violence.

It's also good that Mel Gibson is a Christian so it's not like it's some Hollywood actor looking to make a quick buck by changing the Bible to suit themself. Gibson told it like it should have been told.

I also thought Satan was depicted well...as the creepy being who whispers how much of a failure we are and how useless we are. Much more realistic/believable than the usual red demon with 2 horns and a pointy tail.

I just saw this today for the first time -- it is very touching. Anyone who thinks that Mel Gibson was doing this strictly for money had better quit pointing fingers because there are three pointing back at them. I feel that Mr. Gibson is a man of God whose intention was to spread the word in these last days. People should be commending and supporting him as a fellow Christian, not tearing him apart. Anyone who is planning on watching this, here is my advice. Prepare your hearts beforehand by asking the Lord to open things up.

Here's to Mr. Gibson for a job well-done.:amen: God bless him!

That's kind of a lame excuse to not watch the movie. I mean, Titanic was a box office smash...but, we knew how it ended. We watch movies like Spiderman and know how it will end.
I think that people who don't watch it do not know what they are missing. I couldn't make it through the movie both times I saw it in the theater. Everytime I saw Jesus hit, the less worthy I felt. I know Jesus didn't have to do anything to save us. But, he would rather die than live without us. I feel Christians all over need to see it...I walked out of that theater a different man than when I walked in.

I have not seen it yet mainly because I have been desensitized to events through movie portrayal i.e. Saving Private Ryan, and the like. I find seeing the events "made up" even as real as they portray them somehow cheapens the event. I do not have to see a reenactment to cringe at the way my Lord was treated. I also have been turned off of seeing this movie to an extent simply by the way people at church have treated me for not seeing The Passion. I have been berated for being somehow less than a Christian for not rushing right out and watching it, I have 4 kids and getting a babysitter is a big cost (we go out without kids 1 time a year maybe for our anniversary). While I fully support Mel Gibson in making this movie and am glad of the success it has had, it has been at times a wedge driven between me and worshipping because of the way people acted about it, especially the folks who kept telling me that they saw it oh say more than 2 times and why hadn't I gotten out to see it yet. While I would like to see the movie to support Gibson and a Christian movie, for me a picture takes away from the Word.

I just watched The Passion for the first time tonight. It made me think about my relationship with God, and how much He means to me. I think that it has made me feel closer to Him than ever. After watching it, I feel different. I can't explain it, but I just feel different than I used to...

Let me start by saying that I believe that Jesus suffered terribly for our sins. However, I think the film was unrealistic in the amount of suffering He did go through. I don't think any human could live through all that He did in the movie. He was supposed to be suffering as a human would and not withstanding pain because of supernatural powers.

I also did not like the satanic image, very confusing to non-believers especially.

I think it shouldn't have ended where it did. I don't think a non-believer would understand what happened next without seeing it.
