I decided to bring this topic up since it was brought up in another topic. Does the Bible say anything about the paranormal? Do you believe in it? My answer is yes because I had an experience with it once.

Well, there is the spiritual kingdom which is not God's kingdom. We need, though, to first give our attention to how God is sharing with us as His children in His kingdom.

The main issue, then, is not if there is paranormal stuff, but where our attention belongs.

Because, if I understand the little I have been told, stuff called paranormal can be of Satan's kingdom and can be used to control us and our attention away from God. So, please first seek God in prayer and feed on His word and share with His people.

My question is how are you defining paranormal? Because some assume everything paranormal is demonic. While others cant tell the difference between Godly and ungodly. We need the discerning of spirits.

As has been said there is God etc and there is the devil etc. There is no point in getting interested in the latter, all we need is found with God.

I see no reason to think the paranormal or supernatural claims are real. Every time these things are studied the claims are not corroborated. There has never been a confirmed case of either. It is just a bunch of anecdotal evidence and personal testimony of experiences that people think are paranormal, but have very reasonable explanations. It is more about human psychology.

Sure. I've had spiritual experiences. "Paranormal" typically implies something different.

I voted no in the poll. In the 68 years I've been alive, I've never experienced anything I'd consider to be spiritual, supernatural, or "paranormal." I believe the universe, and everything it contains, are purely functions of matter/energy and the fundamental forces of nature.

In fact, everything that does not belong to the earthly world can be considered paranormal. For me, this is the theme of death and life after death. What do you think about prophetic dreams? Some believe that angels respond with a repeating number. There are a lot of such people and I can say that all this can definitely be classified as paranormal. But if you ask me about zombies, demons, or psychics in the interpretation of Hollywood then .. I don't believe in it.

Yes, I definitely believe in the paranormal. I find the topic fascinating, especially in the area of spirit activity.

Oddly enough, the aspects of the paranormal involving aliens and cryptids don't thrill me as much. Maybe being raised on Star Trek (the original series, thank you!) normalized such creatures in my psyche to the point that I came to find them unremarkable if not downright boring.

But ghosts and spirits -- where do I sign up?!

No. Although I did experience a motorized motorcycle toy move by itself without any batteries.. I'm sure there is a rational explanation behind it.
