While Israeli forces warn Palestinian civilians to evacuate buildings used by Hamas before they are bombed, Israeli civilians are being targeted for surprise attacks by Palestinian terrorists. We already know Hamas uses schools to hide weapons and launch missiles, but far more terrifying are the network of tunnels that run underground from Gaza into Israeli neighborhoods that theyve created to launch attacks.

Imagine this: armed enemies popping up under a day care center or dining room, spraying a crowd with machine gun fire or maybe some chemical, exploding a suicide belt or snatching captives and ducking back into the dirt. Those are the nightmare scenarios The New York Times paints for its readers.

Of course, Israel military is killing women and children.

Hamas leaders are always surrounded by lots of women and children. All the rocket launching sites and other military sites are also surrounded by women and children. The Israeli warn those in these sites. Hamas warns folks not to leave or be killed by Hamas.

Hamas is being successful in its campaign to choosing to have Palestinian children be killed. That is what it means to use human shields, as we all agree Hamas does.

You are free to question US foreign policy. After all, this is a political sub-forum.

Yes, the majority of those in Congress support our strong allies, including Israel. There are many joint research and development projects. Congress has supported Israel in many, many ways since 1948. I don't know about AIPAC membership. However, the vast majority support AIPAC's views with regard to Israel, although not necessarily with regard to other views such as Iran.

There is little question with regard to US policy. The US supports the state of Israel. The US also support a 2-state solution, as does most if the Israelis and most Palestinians.

The OPEN question is what decisions the Palestinians will make after this current destruction of Hamas tunnels and degrading of Hamas infrastructure. The Palestinians in Gaza can follow the lead of their brothers and sisters in the West Bank, or they can continue to support Hamas as their political authority.

Curiously, perhaps this time the Palestinian people will understand that Hamas cannot win against Israel. Those in Gaza may finally accept the 2-state solution.

I wonder why you are harping on this lobby group. The U.S. has given Gaza $400 million (which should have gone to the people but goes instead to Hamas so it can harm more people--both Arab and Jew).

Actually the Obama admin has been quite cool toward Israel--which is the ONLY Democratic nation in a sea of hostile nations (which are purposely kept backward by the radical Muslims.) And at the Dem last convention, they booed both God and the Capitol of Israel, Jerusalem.

How about getting back to the subject--the aggression of Hamas toward Israel and Hamas using the people of Gaza to achieve their goal of destroying Israel.

Can you not understand that there are laws in this country forbidding aid to terrorists organizations?

It is NOT humanitarian aid to fill the pockets of the terrorists pockets and allow them to purchase more rockets of destruction and build terror tunnels. Even the U.N. has found arms hidden in schools and hospitals. It's a war crime. It's not aid to the people.

You're forgetting Lebanon, they are politically free and democratic, with power sharing among the various faiths:

What a great site that is S.ilvio...it glorifies the brave Hamas murderers and pushes for acceptance of Islamic Jihad through its phrasing and wording...basically Israelis bad....Hamas good.

The whole idea of the brave Gazans resisting the invading Israelis is completely fabricated and merely reflects the message that Hamas want to get out to the world as it justifies their actions and condemns Israel.

Most Gazan Arabs absolutely hate Hamas but would not live to tell the tale if they spoke against them...indeed a number have been slaughtered for doing just that.

Amongst the casualty figures produced on this site there is no telling how many of the dead have been killed by Hamas themselves, either because Gazan people were accused of collaborating and summarily executed, or because their dodgy munitions fell short and killed their own non-combattants...or because Hamas forced them to stay in areas where they were told by Israel to evacuate.

No one has noticed? Israel is not invading. Israel GAVE the land (along with the 3000 greenhouses with already established, flowering, and producing plants that the people of Gaza could use for a flourishing trade--what happened to them) back in 2005.
