There are those who are proposing the once the canopy was removed, hence the flood from downpour, the oxygen then contained radiation ultraviolet light and other contaniments that reduced it and changed the world. One of the things they say changed is the growth factor of all on the planet. Let's say that we are 25%oxygen today and 35%n before the flood. The growth of plants would increaed greatly.. We all would in turn grown greatly and live longer. This might explain the difference in the world then and that of after the flood.

I'm not 'Messianic' so I can't challenge anything posted in this forum.

I agree with the hypothesis.

There are other huge changes as well. The atmosphere itself is possibly much thicker before the flood as thick as that of Venus. This resulted to Earth having only one season all year round and with the thick atmosphere + more oxygen and thus thick ozone, the sun did not scorch people.

It never rained 'til the flood and the Earth probably didn't have any rivers nor lakes nor seas at the time. The whole surface is probably covered with vegetation or thick forest with massive trees. Really weird but beautiful enchanting place with dark, endless forests, giants, strange creatures, and people wielding magic. Ironically, like world in fairy tales

Why did prehistoric insects disappear?

There are two main reasons. The most important is that our atmosphere has changed. Millions of years ago, the air surrounding our planet was warmer, moister and contained more oxygen. During the Carboniferous and Permian periods, Earth’s air contained 31-35% oxygen. Today, there is just 21% oxygen in the air.

Oxygen levels are especially important for insects because they don’t have lungs. Instead, they rely on air flowing through a series of openings across their bodies called spiracles, which connect via tiny tubes to the tissues that need oxygen.

I'm just wondering why you posted this in the Messianic Judaism forum.

I am Messianic, it is where my friends hang out.
Well that makes sense, but there may well be non-Messianic people who are interested in this on the forums, who might miss it. Thanks for explaining, anyway.

That’s really interesting, given that 35% o2 contents in the air would not likely lead to oxygen intoxication at sea level, and it would probably be of benefit in the higher mountainous regions.

I really love your sharing this post; this is the kind of interesting insight my friends in the Messianic Judaism community provide, which I had not considered.

Shalom my friends!

A small clean up was done of some problem posts and responses. As a reminder, this is in a Congregational forum and is not a debate forum.
Also, mind the flaming rule.
