Doesn't he realise he could singlehandedly discredit the bible by simply doing nothing?

Don't you realize you have the view you express here because this is exactly how he wants you to think? To you, it appears as if he not only does nothing, but does not exist. This makes satan very ... "happy" (Not that he is actually capable of experiencing such a thing, but it's as close as we can get to communicating)

Either way, it makes no sense.

You forgot the necessary qualifier, "to you." As in, to you this makes no sense. To many of us on this site, perhaps even most, at least this much is perfectly understandable. Which causes us to have compassion on the lost, to such an extent that we will even allow the trolls that come through, even though they overrun the place once in a while ...

Can't anyone give some sort of explanation?

He is very smart. He knows very well the Scriptures.
And because he has to "always" lie and murder, it seems like an individual created on purpose to represent what God is not.
Like an alternative.
On the other hand, the fact that Satan is used to test people's faith it's good. People are evil, not Satan who's proving them as bad apples. If you resist temptation Satan will depart from you, he has no power on a good christian.

Maybe you just do not understand how prophesy works. A prophesy is not a plan one has the option to follow. A prophesy is a record of an event yet to come. Just like recorded History tells of events past, true prophesy is recorded from the past perspective of the prophet as God has chosen. Just like if we were to watch a movie and write down what we saw, it would not change the ending of the movie for the next person who saw it. Even if he read what we wrote or not.

The sum total of you past action will dictate your future. Whatever you do now will determine what you future looks like. Whatever that future is, it is what God has shown his prophets. This is what get recorded in their prophecies. so whatever Satan does now will result in what has already been written.

Where to begin? Am i supposed to take satan seriously? Do you take satan seriously? Is he really some evil mastermind who hates God and us? Does he really fool people and deceive them in various clever ways?

Then why is he doing God's work? WHY? Is he blind to the simple little fact that he is singlehandedly fulfilling prophecies and revelations which are written in the Bible! How does that help his evil agenda?! How can glorifying God by following his word to a tee scream "disobedience". He behaves like a puppet, not some free-thinking and intelligent being.

Doesn't he realise he could singlehandedly discredit the bible by simply doing nothing? Just quit fulfilling God's word and kick back! Do anything else!!! Just stop following the script which your so called enemy has laid out for you! There could be no battles or triumphs, only empty words which were never fulfilled. That would prove God's word wrong! How would books like revelation come to pass! God has already shown his hand and what he expects to happen! What kind of idiot follows it?

It would all make sense if satan were actually a mindless drone, created by God. Although that would then beg the question of why you would condemn someone who does exactly as you want him too. With no possibility of doing otherwise.

Either way, it makes no sense. It only makes me question how serious i should be taking the bible.

C'mon, I could say satan wants you to think like you do too. We are both capable of thinking for ourselves. Now it does not appear like he is doing nothing, but rather he is doing exactly as the bible says he will. Which for someone who is supposedly disobedient and evil seems absurd. Why follow God's script? Why fulfill biblical prophecies and revelations which concern himself? He could simply do something else instead, discrediting God, discrediting the bible.

I mean, the approach is completely self-defeating. How can i believe someone is that idiotic? Unless he is merely a puppet being used by God. I'm not trolling you man, i just can't ignore this.

But he is doing quite an effective job of discrediting Christianity in your eyes by doing exactly what you think is illogical. Why on earth would he change tactics?

Hi Iakabos,

Something majorly destructive happened when the human disobeyed God's instruction. A hugely powerful steam train of sin got going in our world, and this has caused all sorts of wars for thousands of years. What is the problem? It is the human's ability to do wrong to his neighbor.

Before the fall of Adam and Eve, the thought to do wrong would never have crossed our mind, we would have behaved very much like animals, just loving life for how good it naturally is.

However, now that sin is in motion, the devil being the most cunning creature and a native liar, thinks that if he can manage to turn even one person into the antichrist then he can rule the world through that person. So that is how the devil thinks. Jesus on the other hand, thinks in a perfectly holy way. He won't lie and deceive people to achieve God's will, but instead He will just sit on God's right hand and work His miracles until all His enemies become a foot stool. That means that anyone who wants to be Jesus' enemy is either going to come to repentance or he is going to die as an enemy to Jesus.

Please remember that only God knows the future, and Revelation is a prophetic book, it means a lot of different things to lots of different people.

The important thing about all this is to choose who gains your loyalty: do you listen to what the Holy Spirit says or do you listen to what the devil says? It's your choice. Your choice impacts the future of your life and the people in your life. Every person who follows Jesus brings the light of Christ into the world to displace the darkness that is a result of our natural preference to behave and think in favor of sin.

Does this raise a few more questions?

Thanks man, maybe i am thinking in sin!? Even so, if that is the case then shouldn't somebody be able to correct my thinking? Because as nice as all that stuff is, this topic just makes no logical sense to me. Sure i could just leave it to God and have faith that theres a perfect explanation out there, but it's just annoying to not understand.

Well if you have trouble accepting what the bible says about sin, then yes you are giving preference to sin over holiness. If on the other hand you just lack understanding, that is something you will gain as you continue your education.

It's a bit hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together if you are doing it by yourself, but you can do it! My advice is this:

Read the entire new testament. Even just one of "Matthew, Mark, Luke or John" and read the book "Acts", then you will have a good understanding of what Christianity is and how it came about. Then you will be able to ask educated questions based on the official source instead of hearsay.

I'm glad my explanation was helpful :)

John 1 NLT - Prologue Christ the Eternal Word In the - Bible Gateway

Acts 1 NLT - The Promise of the Holy Spirit In my - Bible Gateway

Don't get stuck on words you can't understand, just keep reading and as you absorb the information it will continue to make sense.
