Personally, I feel there are bigger issues involved in tec. In particular, the lack of focus on non families as well as educating the laity. I can understand people being upset about this issue, but to me it is like being concerned about a backed up toilet when one's house is ablaze. Just my. 02

Yeah, I've been soured on tec since I brought up an inquiry regarding a brotherhood of St Andrew chapter up and was basically told since fr. Had senioritis, and was due to retire the next year, it was too much effort.

Or, at a different church where the priest and I discussed Theo on tap and he observed that it would be next to impossible to get priests to volunteer to lead it since they would be unpaid.

I love our liturgy, doctrine, and practices but feel rc priests are more committed to their flocks while more "Protestant" churches build stronger communities (in general).

This just has greater weight on me right now than the homosexual issue.

A calling is a calling to Christ in whom there may be a particular ministry. There is no calling to any sort of compromise. So a person who is a wilful practicing sinner who helps the poor does not have a calling from God, that’s humanism. Christ’s teaching is too seek to follow all He taught.
Those who wilfully compromised with Jesus, the Pharisees, the rich young man, were given various ultimatums.

The homosexual issue is the clearest indication of a counterfit christianity within the church masquerading as Christianty.

Yes it is a sovereignty issue and I agree with your later post that it is not minor.

We are living in idolatrous societies and even Christians have a tuff time recognizing it sometimes- you know, like they say it is possible to boil a frog to death so long as you do it by degrees and over a long enough period.

If I understand the Bishop of Durham correctly he says that our "image bearingness" deconstructs in such societies and St Paul in Rom ch1 sees male + female = image of God.

I've got problems with our whole post, post modern arrogance. If we stand on a mountain, look down on the Bible and declare it ( or a part of it) old and homophobic then let us have a look at the mountain such people stand on when they say things like that.

It is not a matter of the person needing proof that they have been ordained by God. We know that to be true as our bishops are the descendants of Christ's Holy Apostles. And so by the action of such bishops the Holy Spirit which dwells in their office as such is acting in the bishop's new priest.
