It says "some". I am an astronomer and I work on orbital dynamics. I do not think that Jupiter helps. I think it is more trouble than it's worth, and I can't think of any dynamicist (or otherwise) who thinks that Jupiter keeps the Earth safe. But the "wow" part was at the bewildering arrogance of yours in believing that planets were put there for you.

They were. For what reasons I do not know. Obviously planets act as a shield for earth to some extent physically. The stars shine for US also. WE are the reason God created them. They are for signs and...better sit down DCarrera-- TIME!!! They help man set the seasons and times etc. I suspect that it could be that they were put there to determine time itself for earth and area!? Like a giant clock, the universe and galaxies..with earth in the middle of them....may be how God made time itself work here.
