  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Can I ask my fellow single Christians a question???
Do you or have you ever worked in a very small enviornment and you are the only single person there with no kids and you are in your 30's?
Well my boss makes a huge deal in front of me, no less, when people are getting married or having a baby.:sigh:
Hey, God made me single for a very good reason!!!:amen:
Can't argue with The Lord...He knows best...and I know that in my heart even though some days are hard but all in all I know that in my heart He knows what is best for me! :amen:
I just wish that my boss would lay off!

People like to celebrate happy events each others lives.
I have never had an issue with that.

Just because I am single others should not talk about getting married?
Just because I am childless others should not share in the joy of a childbirth or adoption?

I do not think that is reasonable.

caitlincares & wildthing,

Very good points!!
caitlincares,
That is so true...
People should not single one out when you are single.
There is a girl whom I work with who is also a Christian and she just had a baby and she does not single me out. She includes me when talking about her child.:)

wildthing,
Yes, you are right I am very blessed that I do have a job with the way the economy is these days!
I pray that you have one!:prayer:

God bless you both for such good points on this subject!!:amen:

Yes I used to get that a lot (my new assistant is a year younger than me and is also single and childless, so I get it as a group now). My biggest irritant was people saying, "So, why haven't you ever been married?" I learned to respond, "Just lucky I guess!!" ;)

You could always point out around your boss the GREAT things about being single that your office mates don't have anymore:

The only one that needs to be fed at 3am is YOU!

Wanna go to the grocery store for milk in your pjs? DEAL! No spouse to tell you that you can't.

Sometimes it's easier to find one seat in a movie theatre than two! (And no one hogging all your popcorn!)

Something in the house gets broken, YOU KNOW WHO DID IT!

Want to watch that Ronco informercial while drinking OJ out of the jug? GO FOR IT!

No getting home after a long hard day at work and finding out your spouse has invited people for dinner.

No "Honey-do" lists!

You can throw your dirty clothes on any floor in your home that you please. (I really like that one.)

And my personal favorite: You can go anywhere you want, any time you want without clearing it with someone else. (There's a reason they call it "tied down".)
