The only corps around where I live are in very bad and unsafe areas.

There are so few too, one per county. I like the doctrine but the area is a problem. I wish there were more around.

The reason Salvation Army Corps are in difficult places/cities, is because of their passion to be representatives of Jesus to people who are broken and hurting. We weren't called to be primarily in cities of affluence and blessing, but rather places where the 'last, lost and the least' preside.

Salvo Pete is right. The Corps are where they are because of the communities they seek to serve. If you are called to serve the poorest of the poor, then this is where you will find yourself.
