To equate yourself and your writing with someone who wrote by the spirit of God is the measure of a heart that is comfortable equating themselves with someone chosen by God to write by the spirit of God, but the man of the spirit of Luke 18.13 was not so, nor did he even condemn a hypocrite.
The spirit of God which David wrote by also wrote;
2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Do you know who the number are?
If you do, do you know why Paul did not dare make himself of them?
Did David need pharmakeia in order to have a sound mind or peace that surpasses all understanding or to be able to write what he did?
Have you laid your life down for your friends 100 times? Have you killed bears or lions with your bare hands? Were you sent by your father into the wilderness to look after his sheep amongst lions and bears as a child because your family despised you so much, they did not care about your life.
How many Giants did you kill as a young boy?
David never condemned the priests of the sanctuary or the king or his princes behind their backs in public, no matter how apostate or wicked they were.
I’m sure if he had ever done such a thing and was confronted with his sin, he would have acknowledged it rather than trying to deny any wrongdoing by equating himself with someone far greater than himself.
If the priests of the sanctuary have sinned, you know the commandments, go and tell them their sins to their faces.
