This YouTube video serves as an introduction to my book published several years ago. In the process of researching the book, I gave a talk about it at church. I had the old audio tape, but its taken about 5 years to figure out how to turn it into a video. Anyway, here it is.

Ive adapted the message and added a power point presentation, and put it up on YouTube. I hope you like it.
That is awesome C G!

This book is the result of hundreds of hours of research into the fascinating subject of prophetic chronology. A grid exists of weeks, periods of seven years and multiples of seven that extend beneath the pages of scripture surfacing briefly inside stories and seemingly innocuous chronologies. Could it be a clock was behind history counting down toward a destiny which had already been written?
There are sobering implications in the findings but by way of assurance to the reader, the difference between this discovery and some other writings on the subject is that the dates here are not based on obscure arguments. Nor do they contradict those of reputable historians. More importantly, the author does not attempt to project sabbatical and jubilee cycles past the Cross in order to justify some end-time idea. Nevertheless, the times were going somewhere, and they can be tracked.
The Atonement Clock could not be described as 'simple' but neither is it written in high academic language. It is written for the average person who is seriously interested in Old Testament studies and how they link to the New Covenant. The arguments set forth hinge on precise and accurate dating and the author employs clear, full-size diagrams to illustrate vital linkages between hitherto unnoticed dates.
Biblical, as well as extra-biblical sources are drawn upon for information and a helpful sidebar reference system enables the reader to quickly check the various quotations and claims being made. Some of the topics include, the Jubilee, day of Jesus death, Dead Sea scrolls, and the 70-week cycle.
The Atonement Clock - Readers Edition is a compact, colour, illustrated, soft cover publication packed with information rarely found in larger books. It is suitable for both general audience as well as academic studies.

METICULOUSLY RESEARCHED
In the past there has been great debate about the timing of events in the Bible. There are dates and seasons written throughout the Old Testament, according to the author of this well-presented, meticulously researched small book, which amount to an
Atonement clock, a prophetic calendar. This is a count-down from a certain date to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which we can therefore pinpoint in time.
You'll have to read the book to discover what the dates of events are determined to be by this clock; there are too many to mention here. It sounds convincing to me, a non-mathematician, so I asked a mathematician to look at it, and he said it is easily understood. It always puzzled me that so many in Israel were expecting Jesus first appearance. It seems they were well aware of the timing of events from Daniel's prophecy, and we have only now rediscovered that timing.
Those who are fascinated by arithmetic will be intrigued by this book, but for the non-mathematically minded, it uses many interesting diagrams to make it easier to grasp the concepts outlined. There is one aspect of recent interpretation of Daniel's end-time prophecy which the author attacks, and he may be right the reader will have to make up their own mind, because it affects a lot of end-time doctrine. To me, the main value of discovering this clock is to marvel once more at God s timing, and be assured that he has the timing of everything under control, including that most vital event, the return of Jesus, which the author does not presume to predict.

About the Author
Christian Gedge has been involved in Bible teaching for many years, pastoring several churches, lecturing in Bible colleges, writing, and contributing regularly in team ministry and preaching.
Married, with three adult children, Chris's church background is Open Brethren and Assemblies of God and Maureen's Presbyterian and Baptist a diverse mix admittedly, but from this heritage came a solid appreciation of evangelical truths. For statement of faith, please find our website.
Chris stood down from full-time pastoral ministry and settled in the Waikato district of New Zealand to concentrate on preparation of specialist teaching material designed to supplement the work of local churches. In 1997 he published
River Discipleship, a workbook on basic Christian doctrine with a special emphasis on reinforcing the faith of new as well as older Christians. It was an instant success with thousands of books sold in New Zealand and Australia for use in group studies. River is still the standard follow-up resource for many churches in this region.
In 2007
Rainbow Discovery was published - a direct witnessing tool for evangelists. Rainbow is a sharp 5-lesson course that steps the seeker through the gospel revelation with power and precision. It has been well accepted across the denominations.
Christian Gedge has also been keenly involved in Old Testament history. When researching the internal chronological records of the Old Testament he noticed an additional convergence of data to Messiah that had been assumed lost. Upon comparing it with discoveries in the Qumran scrolls and other external sources he reconstructed what appears to be an ancient calendar, and made it the subject of his latest book,
The Atonement Clock.

PREFACE
While it is true that prophetic timelines have been the stomping ground of fringe groups and end-time cults, may I suggest that they have defaulted to them due to neglect of the subject? Conservativescholars sometimes forget that history and prophecy are two sides of the same coin, and I believe this iswhy we should take the matter of prophetic chronology more seriously. By way of assurance to thereader, the difference between this book and some bizarre writings on the subject is that the dates I setout in it are neither based on obscure arguments, nor do they contradict those of reputable historians.More importantly, I do not attempt to project sabbatical and jubilee cycles beyond the Cross in order to justify some end-time idea. Please take time to study the charts and diagrams as you read. There is more research in these pages than what first meets the eye, because I have tried to say more in fewer words. The diagrams I have provided contain key dates and computations which are critical to the rest of the book, and the quick-find system in the margin is designed to highlight references that substantiate various points being made. Thisshould be of particular help in the early chapters where concepts are raised but not elaborated on untillater. If questions arise about conversion of biblical lunar dates so that they accord with our moderncalendar, additional information is provided in the appendix. Again, I would assure the reader that lunar cycles are very reliable. They can be confirmed by astronomical observatories and by computer software built from astronomical charts. Precise solar and lunar dates can be worked out from the ancient luni-solar system. Some people may balk at a few of the technicalities, or when asked to use a calculator to check thenumbers, but others will find the material intensely interesting. In either case, I hope I can replicate for you the shock and awe I felt when I first discovered the
‘Atonement Clock’.
Please bear with me. Theimplication of this research is significant, and those who care to investigate it will not be disappointed.Christian Gedge

Chapter 1 STARTING POINT
The First 490-year Era
He came to a certain place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set.Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!
Some treat this incident as legend and Jacob’s ‘ladder’ as a mystical symbol. Preachersexhort us to step up to higher ‘rungs of virtue’ - lovely messages, but entirely missing the point. Others speak of angels, whether they ascend before they first descend or vice versa, but Jacob's ‘ladder’ is none of these. It must be understood in contrast to our banishment fromthe garden where angels stood with flaming swords separating man from God and from the treeof life.Reconciliation! Atonement! That’s what Jacob saw when he had a vision of heavenopen and a stairway between heaven and earth with angels of God ascending and descending.Man is reconciled to God – at one again after being cast out of Eden – and a path to His throneis provided. On seeing it Jacob was afraid and said,
“This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
Little did Jacob realise that his dream was one of those rare visions given from time totime to reveal the divine plan. A page opens in scripture then closes again with a brief glimpseof the inner workings of something so precise that it could be described as a ‘calendar’ or ‘clock’. Indeed, Jacob’s life
was
a ‘clock’. To him, his life journey was a string of mistakes, but his destiny was, it seems, pre-programmed into a timetable.A grid exists of ‘weeks’, periods of seven years and multiples of seven that extend beneath the pages of scripture surfacing briefly within stories and seemingly innocuous chro-nologies. Take, for example, Jacob’s age of 147 years at death. That is 7
21. His Betheldream came to him at age 77 (7
11) and its confirmation from God came 21 years later (7
3). Jacob worked seven years for Leah and seven years for Rachel and on the fourteenthyear Joseph was born. He entered Egypt as an old man with seventy offspring. All this might be dismissed as a little quirk of Genesis if it were not for another fact. The pattern of sevens picks up again in the next book of the Bible some four to five hundred yearslater. When we extend the seven-year grid beyond Jacob we find it intersects with the data inExodus. Yes, the day the Israelites marched out of the land of Egypt was 483 years (7
