Before I spoil this thread with a whinge, I have to say that Oblivion is the most immersive game I've played.

That said... why is the MQ impossible without levelling up first? IMO, that breaks the game.

What? First of all, in basically EVERY RPG, you need to level up as you play the main quest. On the other hand, in Oblivion, it's possible to get through the entire game with having barely levelled up at all! Enemies level up along with the player. Sure, you'll have to do SOME levelling up in order to make it easier, but that's purely an option.

BTW, I take it back about the PC not being definitely the best version. If you want the option to play from your a console with every mod ever made for the game, it's possible on both a PC and a PS3. The PS3 gives you the option to stream PC games through it and play on a TV in HD without having to hook your PC up to a TV (this is useful if your PC is in a different room than your entertainment centre, or even in a different house!). Via Linux on the PS3, you can run any PC game from your PC, but display it though the PS3 with any PC(including kb and mouse) or PS3 controller. The only drawback is that you need to keep the PS3 controller plugged into the USB port. Although you can get a wireless USB hub, it's not as streamlined as using bluetooth.

you either go through the whole game with no levelling, or you level up a heckuva lot and then do it.

Sorry, forgot the screenshots.

But I've levelled up and have better armor! I have an enchanted mithril cuirass (feather 49pts), enchanted boots (also feather 49pts) and I finally did it.........enchanted my akaviri dai-katana with fire damage. I have also completed every single daedric quest. So I'm level 24. As well as guildmaster of fighters' guild and the arch-mage.

I promise to get those screenshots!

Get Azura's star, and enchant your weapons with soul trap and another enchantment or two for a few seconds. Azura's star is a reusable soul gem. Put it in your quick select inventory and use it often when your on an adventure. You will NEVER have to play to have your weapon recharged, and NEVER have to worry about running out of soul gems!

Also, for some fun, enchant enough of your armor with chameleon so that your total chameleon effect is 100%. You'll be absolutely invisible to everything, unless you talk to them. You can bump into enemies and they won't even flinch!

I find the most handy impliment is Nocturne's Skeleton Key. It is the salvation of thieves in the Thieves Guild quests!!
