Yup...sorry, didn't know whether or not it was a band or just a loner. ;) Just started getting into old rock, so I have yet, a lot to learn!

[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]...the limp bizcut remake of behind blue eyes really sucks...really. I can't STAND it! I loved the original!!!!!!! [They ALMOST ruined it...almost!]

Anyone agree?

Same here...I loved the LB version (didn't even know it was a cover), but my girlfriend sent me the Who version and I immediately took a liking to it. It has its own little quirks to it (particularly the middle section when the beat rocks up a bit more) but I like it. :)

Hi,

I wouldn't say that I'm a huge fan of the Zepps, but to me they seemed to pick up the baton in the 70's where the Beatles left off. I've listened to some of their albums, but Physical Graffiti would be my favourite of the lot.

Did anyone ever listen to the Stairways to Heaven album? It got a big caning from music purists who believe that the song shouldn't be topuched. Rolf Harris did an Aussie bush ballad versioon, a Perth band called the Beatnix mixed it to the tunes of 'Twist & Shout', 'Please Please Me', and 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'. I hit on the idea of doing an instrumental to it to the tune of the old techno classic 'Popcorn' (which was No.1 for 8 weeks in Australia back in '72).

I like "Whole Lotta Love", "Rock'n'Roll", "Custard Pie", "The Battle of Evermore", and "Thank You". The former used to be the title track to the long-running British music show 'Top Of The Pops' in the 70's when it was a UK hit for a jazz-rock band called CCS, whilst Led Zep hit with it themselves down here in Oz. The instrumental solo for it sounds like an audio version of an acid trip - great for when you just want your mind to get out of the constraints of your body for a while without the comedowns (NO, I've never touched the stuff and I don't intend to either!)
