Pop. It's a little like Mountain Dew, but less sugary and more citrusy. I think it's a regional find though. You can still buy it in bottles back in Wisconsin.
I grew up in Michigan and we had as a staple Faygo Pop in all the stores. It came in a variety of flavors and was much better than the big boys, with the exception of Vernors gingerale which shoud be renamed doublebubbbleburpicola.

Has anyone tried that Black Mountain Dew yet?

Hey Stary it was in McAlester mostly and not so much in Muskogee. My wife was on temporary assignment there about seven years ago. could have it mixed up with Tennessee because we were there as well.

Side note: McAlestar has the largest ammunitions dump in the country and the second largest prison rodeo. That is also the place where I saw my first ostritch farm

I had both Vernors and Faygo when I was in Detroit for my friend's ordination. In Wisconsin the coveted (cheap) store brand was Jolly Good.

Did you have Faygo Rock n Rye? Please tell me you did so I can live through you vicariously LOL

Jolly Good? Sounds like I should be getting a spot of tea not soda In Detroit in some of the Liquor stores they sold a beer called "Big Jug-a-Beer" in two liter bottles. I thik it was .99 a two liter. Nasty stuff from what I hear.

Detroit's an interesting place. I was all excited about .99/2L beer (I am a Wisconsin girl after all), but at that price it has to be nasty.
