I mean, a blog as a source? Really? I honestly don't care. I'm living the best life I can and if some idiot at the government looks at a joke I forwarded, then the Lord help us all! We all know the end will come eventually and we best be finding ways to share Jesus and his message as opposed to having ridiculous conversations about hearsay.

Don't know what Black Widow is or if it is, but there is an Echalon? program where the government taps phone and other communication. And yes it is important, because we are watching our freedoms go down the tubes quickly.
When persecution hits the believers and other discenters you can bet the powers that be will be ready to do there hunt and search electronically.

I am Myself a computer Programmer for more than 8 years. I am not sure how credible this information is. It would take more than one suoercomputer to monitor all these emails/chats/Messages. I am sure the Govt., should has enough bucks with them to keep them active like that. To run such high powered supercomputer machines it would lots and lots of Investment and especially developing the required hardware and software that can keep track of these things is another challenge. May be or May not be our Lord Jesus is for real and if we approach him he will protect us from all evil and Danger. Also he helps us in times of our trouble. So why don't we leave this and "Cast all our burden and care on him" and he will give us rest. Lets do what we are suppose to do(Spread his good news to all).

Hmm I know what protocol is but i am not sure about the term "Protocols for street level mapping". Protocol in computing terminology is the data communication/connection between two different terminals. "Street Level Mapping" if taken by just that word is Google Maps or map quest or Yahoo Maps. Sorry i am not that much of a help.

About 12 years ago there was a story out about the CIA's Super Computer. It was so powerful that it had to have a small lake built to cool it. It could do the same thing that this computer is said to do. Catch certain words and phrases said over the electronic voice and internet. These super computers must be very effective because there have been no nuclear or biological terrorist attacks....so far. What may be a phrase that will get red-flagged in the near future will be objective morality. I think we Christians may know why this might be.

I neither reject these rumors and theories out of hand or totally believe them until I am given proof, however I think its pretty obvious that we are slowly losing our freedoms to a government that threatens terror if we don't. So I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they are watching our communications and I am convinced that they will be continuing to do so more in the future. Christians will be persecuted and what better way to find them than listen to their calls and read their emails?

I am sure the Govt' in the name of national security is trying all it's best to nab the terrorists. But at the cost of common mans freedom. All these years of toil, hardships, torture and scracrifices made by the people who fought for the freedom is all in Vain because of these terrorists. I want to board a flight i would be searched all over, my bags would be searched if the alaram beeps they would do another round of search. All this for what? I am sure for the security. In my country there were incidences in the past of train bombing's as most commuters in india use trains. Now that in most of railway stations they have installed the security system it is still not for sure how these ruthless people would fall on innocent civilians. I guess we should all leave these cares to God and let him take full control. But for now i guess we have to Obey to the rulers as it is written in the bible.

And you are right, Christians will be persecuted. I believe we are either in or about to enter the Great Tribulation. Those who hold fast to the end will be saved. That said, I don't know much about Catholic eschatology so I don't even know if the Protestant view of the Great Tribulation is correct or not. All I know is that we are living in the end times and we have been living in the end times for the past 2000 years. At least I believe so.

I hate to tell you this pgp_protector but even the best civilian encryption does not even pale in comparison to the government's encryption and decryption methods.

Actually, you only have to obey the just rules/laws that the government makes/enforces. Take the Chinese Christians as an example. Many of them worship underground to avoid the government's persecution of them.

The best thing that we can do is to pray for the world.
