The New Testament Commandments

(1) Be born-again in order to be in heaven. (John 3:3)

(2) Be born-again and water-baptised truly in the right spirit to enter heaven. (John 3:3,5)

(3) Seek God and His Righteousness first and God will take care of our needs. (Matthew 5:22)

(4) Thou shalt not hate. (Matthew 5:22)

(5) Thou shalt not lust after a woman. (Matthew 5:28)

(6) Love, bless, pray for and do good to your enemies and those who curse you, despitefully use you and persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)

(7) Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:48)

(8) Your alms-giving, donation, money-giving or gift-giving ought to be in secret. (Matthew 6:1-4)

(9) Your prayer ought to be in secret and to the point. (Matthew 6:5-8)

(10) Your fasting ought to be in secret. (Matthew 6:16-18)

(11) All things whatsoever you would want that people should do to you, do that to them. (Matthew 7:12)

(12) You are accountable to God for every idle word that you shall speak. (Matthew 12:36)

(13) Humble yourself as a little child and you shall be considered as greatest in God's kingdom. (Matthew 18:4)

(14) Forgive 490 times (or more) the person who commits the sin against you. (Matthew 18:21-35)

(15) Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (Matthew 22:37)

(16) Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 22:38)

(17) Be not called as Rabbi or Master for only Christ is your one and only Master. (Matthew 23:8-10)

(18) Endure unto the end in order to be saved. (Matthew 24:13)

(19) Be watchful and in prayer so that you don't enter into temptation. (Matthew 26:41)

(20) Do not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:29)

(21) Do violence to no man, don't accuse anyone falsely and be content with your wages. (Luke 3:14)

(22) Be merciful as your Heavenly Father is also merciful. (Luke 3:16)

(23) Don't judge and you will not be judged. Don't condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)

(24) Give and it shall be given unto you. (Luke 6:38)

(25) Deny yourself. Take up your cross daily and follow Jesus Christ. (Luke 9:23)

(26) Be willing to loose your life and you will save your life. (Luke 9:24)

(27) If much spiritual wisdom (or spiritual light) is given to you by God then much is expected of you from God. (Luke 12:48)

(28) You need to love God the Father and Lord Jesus Christ above everyone else even more than your father, mother, wife, children, brother, sister, your own life and bear your cross daily to be His disciple. (Luke 14:26,27)

(29) You need not justify yourself before others for God knows your heart. (Luke 16:15)

(30) Do not pre-meditate what to answer during persecution for God will give the right words for you to say at that instant of time. (Luke 21:14,15)

(31) You ought to worship God in truth and in spirit. (John 4:24)

(32) Honour God the Son (Lord Jesus Christ or Yahshua the Messiah) even as you honour God the Father (I AM or Yahweh). (John 5:23)

(33) Struggle more for spiritual food which is everlasting life rather than earthly food which perishes. (John 6:27)

(34) If you have love for other disciples of Christ then Non-Christians shall know that you are a disciple of Christ. (John 13:35)

(35) If you love Lord Jessus Christ truly then you will keep His Commandments (or sayings). (John 14:15)

(36) If you can believe then you will do the works that Jesus did and will do even greater works than what Jesus did. (John 14:12)

(37) If you abide in Christ and His Words abide in you then whatever you ask it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7)

(38) Love one another as Christ has loved you. (John 15:12)

(39) Be an overcomer of sin. Do not yield yourself to sin. (Romans 6:11-14)

(40) Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

(41) Think not more highly of yourself than what you ought to think as God deals with every man as per his faith. (Romans 12:3)

(42) Let your love be without formality. Hate that which is evil and stick to that which is good. (Romans 12:9)

(43) Have a kind affection towards one another in brotherly love. Wish and prefer that other humans get more honour than you. (Romans 12:10)

(44) Do not be lazy at work. Be strong in the spirit and in serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11)

(45) Be cheerful in hope. Patient in troubles. Praying continually. (Romans 12:12)

(46) Distributing or giving regularly to meet the needs of other christians and committed to hospitality. (Romans 12:13)

(47) Laugh with those who laugh and weep with those who weep (if not openly then atleast inwardly). (Romans 12:14)

(48) Do not think of high and lofty things but equal yourself with lowly people. (Romans 12:16)

(49) Do not take revenge. Speak honestly about the things pertaining to you before other human beings. (Roman 12:17,19)

(50) Live in peace with other human beings with all your ability and as much as possible by you. (Romans 12:18)

(51) Overcome evil by doing good. Do not do evil. (Romans 12:21)

(52) Submit yourself to higher authorities. (Romans 13:1-3)

(53) Do not involve in riots, drunkeness, laziness, quarrels and jealousy. (Romans 13:13)

(54) Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and give no chance for your body to fulfil its lusts. (Romans 13:14)

(55) Do not be a stumbling block in another's path. (Romans 14:13)

(56) Those who are strong ought to bear with the weaknesses of the weak. (Romans 15:1)

(57) Be like-minded with one another. (Romans 15:5)

(58) Accept one another as Christ also accepted us. (Romans 15:7)

(59) Let there be no divisions or groups among you. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

(60) A spiritual man judges all things righteously. (1 Corinthians 2:15)

(61) Be willing to become a fool for Christ's sake. (1 Corinthians 4:10)

(62) Be willing to be unpopular in the world. Be willing to be considered as the filth and refuse of the world (for Christ's sake) until the last day of your life on earth. (1 Corinthians 4:13)

(63) Do not go to court if you have anything against another Christian, but go to a saintly or Godly brothers-in-Christ. If possible suffer the wrong instead of complaining. (1 Corinthians 6:1-8)

(64) If you are unmarried, do not commit sexual intercourse with another unmarried person (fornication). (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 10:8)

(65) If you cannot control your sexual desire then get married instead of burning. (1 Corinthians 7:2)

(66) Let the husband give due respect and consideration to his wife. Let the wife give due respect and consideration to her husband. (1 Corinthians 7:3)

(67) Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it to bring glory to God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

(68) If you judge yourself, you won't be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:31)

(69) Follow after Godly Love and desire Spiritual Gifts especially for Prophesy (for edification, exhortation and comfort). (1 Corinthians 14:1,3)

(70) Watch yourself. Be strong in faith. Stop being like men, be strong. Everything that you do, do it in love. (1 Corinthians 16:13,14)

(71) Be not unequally yoked together with non-believers. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

(72) Live honestly not only in the sight of the Lord but also in the sight of men. (2 Corinthians 8:21)

(73) Give according to what you have decided in your heart, not grudgingly or of necessity but cheerfully. (2 Corinthians 9:6,7)

(74) Do not involve in fights which harm the physical bodies. (2 Corinthians 10:3,4)

(75) Bring every imagination and thought into captivity and the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

(76) Do not be decieved by false apostles, deceitful workers, satanic preachers who may transform themselves into apostles of Christ or as preachers of righteousness. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

(77) Bear with the man who brings you into bondage or devour you or take of you or exalts himself or smites you on the face. (2 Corinthians 11:20)

(78) Check and prove within yourself if you are in faith. (2 Corinthians 13:5)

(79) Do no evil. Do that which is honest. Be perfect. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace. (2 Corinthians 13:7,11)

(80) Do not be a man-pleaser or women-pleaser. Be a Christ-pleaser! (Galatians 1:10)

(81) Do not indulge in works of the flesh like adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkeness, revellings etc. For those who do such things shall not inherit kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

(82) Abound in Fruits of the Spirit which are Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness and Temperance. (Galatians 5:22,23)

(83) Do not desire for popularity and fame in order to challenge/provoke one another or because of being jealous of one another. (Galatians 5:26)

(84) If someone falls into sin or commits a mistake, restore him in a spirit of meekness checking yourself spiritually otherwise you may also be tempted like him. (Galatians 6:1)

(85) Bear one another's burdens. (Galatians 6:2)

(86) Do not be tired of doing good to others for in due season you shall reap the fruits of the good works that you have sown. (Galatians 6:9)

(87) Do good unto all human beings especially to Christians. (Galatians 6:10)

(88) Live with all inward-lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)

(89) Be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the jugglery of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to decieve. (Ephesians 4:14)

(90) Live not as the Non-Christians, who live in the vanity of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being separated from the life of God through ignorance because of the blindness of their heart and who have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. (Ephesians 4:17-19)

New Testament Commandments continued :-

(91) Put off your former conduct and behaviour (the old man) which is corrupt according to deceitful lusts. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Put on the new man which is after God and is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

(92) Speak truthfully with your brothers and sisters in Christ for you are members of the Body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:25)

(93) Be angry with sin and sin not. Let not the unforgiving spirit remain in you till the evening/night. (Ephesians 4:26)

(94) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth but speak in such a way that it will edify and minister grace unto your hearers. (Ephesians 4:29)

(95) Put away all bitterness, wrath, anger and evil-speaking. (Ephesians 4:31)

(96) Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)

(97) Let not fornication, uncleanness or covetousness or filthiness or foolish talking nor joking be present among you. But, behave yourselves as Saints. (Ephesians 5:3-4)

(98) Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove them. (Ephesians 5:11)

(99) Be not foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17)

(100) Be not excessively drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

(101) Speak to yourselves in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:19-20)

(102) Submit yourselves to one another in the fear of God. (Ephesians 5:21)

(103) Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (Ephesians 5:22)

(104) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it. (Ephesians 5:23)

(105) Children, obey your parents in the Lord. For this is right in the sight of God. (Ephesians 6:1)

(106) Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

(107) Servants, be obedient to your earthly Masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart as unto Christ. (Ephesians 6:5-8)

(108) Masters, do not threaten your servants knowing that your Master is in heaven and neither is there respect of persons with Him. (Ephesians 6:9)

(109) Put on the whole Armour of God (Loins girt about with Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Preparation of the Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God) so that you will be able to withstand all the wiles of the Devil. (Ephesians 6:11-17)

(110) Be confident that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

(111) Be like-minded, having the same love and be of one accord and one mind. (Philippians 2:2)

(112) Do not do anything through quarrel or for vain reputation but in lowliness of mind let each esteem better than themselves. (Philippians 2:3)

(113) Do not think about your own things but think about how you can help others too. (Philippians 2:4)

(114) Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

(115) Do all things without complaining and without quarrel. (Philippians 2:14)

(116) Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers. (Philippians 3:2)

(117) Do not think that you are already perfect or that you have already understood everything concerning God but move towards perfection. (Philippians 3:12-14)

(118) Let your change as a new person-in-Christ be known to all human beings. (Philippians 4:5)

(119) By prayer, sincere pleadings and thanksgivings let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6)

(120) Whatsoever things are true, Whatsoever things are honest, Whatsoever things are just, Whatsoever things are pure, Whatsoever things are lovely, Whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue or any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

(121) Be content in whatsoever state you are in. (Philippians 4:11)

(122) As you have therefore recieved Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in Him. Rooted and built-up in Him, and established in the faith as you have been taught. (Colossians 2:6-7)

(123) Beware let no man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

(124) Set your affection on spiritual things and not on the things on earth. (Colossians 3:2)

(125) Put on therefore as the elect of God bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another, forgiving one another. And above all these virtues put on Love which is the bond of spiritual perfection. (Colossians 3:12-14)

(126) Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)

(127) Whatsoever you do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by Him. (Colossians 3:17)

(128) Whatsoever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. (Colossians 3:23)

(129) Live wisely before Non-Christians redeeming the time. (Colossians 4:5)

(130) Let your talk be always with grace, seasoned with salt that you may know how to answer every man. (Colossians 4:6)

(131) Strive to be silent and to do your own jobs working with your own hands that you may walk honestly before the Non-Christians and that you may have lack of nothing. (1 Thessalonians 4:11,12)

(132) Comfort one another and spiritually enrich one another. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

(133) Learn of your brothers and sisters in Christ who do ministry among you and over you in the Lord and admonish you. Esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake and be at peace among yourselves. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)

(134) Warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak and be patient with all human beings. (1 Thessalonians 5:14)

(135) Do not render evil for evil unto any human being but always follow that which is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

(136) Be cheerful and happy. (1 Thessalonians 5:16)

(137) Pray continuously. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

(138) In everything give thanks to the Lord our God. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

(139) Do not let the Holy Spirit in you to get dried up. (1 Thessalonians 5:19)

(140) Do not look down upon the prophesyings of truly Godly men and women in Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:20)

(141) Prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. Avoid everything which is evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22)

(142) Withdraw yourself from every brother that lives improperly and not according to what is taught in the Scriptures. Especially those who don't work for their bread and those who are busybodies in other people's matters. We are therefore commanded that with quietness we work and eat our own bread and if any would not work then neither should he eat (this is not for children, old people and the sick people). (2 Thessalonians 3:6-12)

(143) Do not be tired in doing and being good. (2 Thessalonians 3:13)

(144) The total essence of the New Testament Commandments is to have pure love from the bottom of your heart, and to have a good conscience and to have an open and sincere faith in Christ. (1 Timothy 1:5)

(145) First of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for Kings, Political Rulers and for all who are in Authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Timothy 2:1,2)

(146) Women, adorn yourselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety. Not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls or costly array. But, adorn yourselves with good works which portrays godliness. (1 Timothy 2:9-10)

(147) A Bishop (or a Spiritual Leader) must be blameless, husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach. Not given to wine, not a fighter, not greedy of filthy money, but patient, not a noisy quarrelsome person, not desiring other people's belongings and one who rules properly his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity (for if he can't rule his own house, how shall take care of the Church of God). He should not be a beginner lest he may be lifted uo with pride and fall under the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must have a good report before Non-Christians lest he fall into the reproach and snare of the Devil. (1 Timothy 3:1-7)

(148) A Bishop's (or a Spiritual Leader's) wife must be serious-minded, not slanderer (who character assasinates others by badly talking about others) and faithful in all things. (1 Timothy 3:11)

(149) Let no human being despise your youth but be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

(150) Meditate on the Scriptures and give thyself wholly to them that thy profiting may appear to everyone and continue to follow them and by doing this you will save yourself and them that hear you. (1 Timothy 4:15,16)

(151) Do not scold an elder, but consider him as a father and the younger men as brothers. (1 Timothy 5:1)

(152) Consider elderly women as Mothers, the younger women as Sisters with all purity. (1 Timothy 5:2)

(153) Honour genuine widows who trust in God and continue in supplications and prayers night and day. (1 Timothy 5:3,4)

(154) If any person does not provide for his own and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel. (1 Timothy 5:8)

(155) Let the elders who rule properly be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in word and doctrine. (1 Timothy 5:17)

(156) Those that sin scold before everyone that others also may fear. (1 Timothy 5:20)

(157) Do not be partial. (1 Timothy 5:21)

(158) Servants, consider your own Masters worthy of all honour and if you have believing (christian) Masters, do not despise them because they are brothers, but rather do them service because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit in Christ. (1 Timothy 6:1-2)

(159) Be content with what you have for you have brought nothing into this world and it is certain you can carry nothing out of this world. (1 Timothy 6:6-8)

(160) Flee the love of money which is the root cause of all evil and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. (1 Timothy 6:10-12)

New Testament Commandments continued :-

(161) Keep the commandments without a scar, and so that no one need to scold you, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 6:14)

(162) If you are rich, do not be high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. Be good and be rich in good works and ready to distribute so that they may lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

(163) Endure the hard life as a good soldier of Christ. Bear all things for the sake of other human beings so that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:3,10)

(164) Live a life approved unto God, as a worker that need not be ashamed of his work, rightly passing on Scriptural Truths. But, avoid unholy and useless talking for they will only increase the ungodliness in you. (2 Timothy 2:15-16)

(165) Flee youthful lusts but follow after righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22)

(166) Avoid foolish questions and also questions for which you don't have a clear answer knowing that they may create gender quarrels. (2 Timothy 2:23)

(167) As a servant of the Lord do not fight with others but be gentle unto all men, suitable to teach with patience. Meekly instructing those that oppose themselves so that God would by any chance lead them to repentance and to the acceptance of the truth. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil (who are taken captive by the devil). (2 Timothy 2:24-26)

(168) Turn away from people who are lovers of their ownselves, greedy, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, peace breakers, false accusers, despisers of those that are good, having a form of godliness but having no spiritual strength, and those who are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

(169) Preach the Word of God, with all depth in season and out of season, reprove, scold, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. Be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

(170) Old men, be serious-minded, temperate, firm in faith, in love, in patience. Old women, behave in a holy manner, not as false accusers, not given to much wine, be as teachers of good things. That they may teach the young women to be serious-minded to love their husbands and to love their children, to be careful, tactful, pure, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands that the Word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus 2:2-5)

(171) Young men, be serious-minded, and in all things showing a pattern of good works, in doctrine showing uncorruptness, depth and sincerity. Sound talking that cannot be condemned so that any opposer of the truth may be ashamed having no evil thing to say of you. (Titus 2:6-8)

(172) Teach servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things, not answering back again, not stealing, but showing all good fidelity. (Titus 2:9,10)

(173) Speak, exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no human being despise you. (Titus 2:15)

(174) Be submissive to principalities and powers, obey magistrates (judges), be ready to every good work, speaking evil of no human being, be not quarrelsome, but be gentle showing all meekness unto all human beings. (Titus 3:1,2)

(175) Affirm these sayings constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These sayings are good and profitable unto men. But avoid follish questions, and genealogies, and quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and vain. (Titus 3:8-9)

(176) Learn to enter into the rest (stopping from busily doing your own works) which God provides. (Hebrews 4:1-11)

(177) Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that you may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

(178) Lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily beset you, and run with patience the race that is set before you, looking unto Jesus Christ the author and finisher of your faith, who for joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of God. (Hebrews 12:1-4)

(179) Follow peace with all human beings, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)

(180) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:2)

(181) Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. (Hebrews 13:3)

(182) Be not carried away with divers and strange doctrines existing in christendom, for it is a good thing that the heart is established with grace. (Hebrews 13:9)

(183) Offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. (Hebrews 13:15)

(184) Obey them that have the rule over you and submit yourselves; for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account that they may do it with joy, and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you. (Hebrews 13:17)

(185) Be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to get angry. (James 1:19)

(186) Lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and recieve with meekness the engrafted Word of God, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:21)

(187) Be doers of the Word of God, and not hearers only otherwise you would be decieving your ownselves. (James 1:22)

(188) Visit the fatherless and widows in their afflictions and keep yourself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)

(189) Give equal preference to the rich and the poor. (James 2:1-9)

(190) Do not be a Leader (unless God has clearly called and trained you for that purpose) over other Christians knowing that we shall recieve the greater condemnation if we lead them wrongly. (James 3:1,2)

(191) Do not curse other human beings. (James 3:9,10)

(192) Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

(193) Humble yourself in the sight of God and He shall lift you up. (James 4:10)

(194) Do not speak evil of your brother or sister in Christ. (James 4:11,12)

(195) Do not be boastful or over-confident but say "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." (James 4:13-16)

(196) Do not bear grudges on one another lest you be condemned by God. (James 5:9)

(197) Do not swear by heaven or earth or any other oath but let your "yes" be "yes" and "no" be "no" lest you fall into condemnation. (James 5:12)

(198) Pray when you are afflicted. Sing hymns and songs when you are happy. (James 5:13)

(199) Pray over the sick person anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and the Lord shall heal him/her. (James 5:14,15)

(207) Wives, be submissive to your own husbands and if any obey not the Word of God, they may be won by your good and loving behaviour. Adorn yourselves with a meek and quiet spirit which is very valuable in the sight of God. (1 Peter 3:1-6)

(208) Husbands, love and give honour unto your wives for they are heirs of grace of life like you. (1 Peter 3:7)

(209) All of you, be of one mind, having compassion and love on one another, sympathetic and courteous. (1 Peter 3:8)

(210) Be ready always to give an answer to every human being that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear, having a good conscience so that the evil doers who speak evil of you, may be ashamed, that falsely accuse your good behaviour in Christ. (1 Peter 3:16)

(211) Above all things have fervent love for one another, for Love shall cover the multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grudging. (1 Peter 4:8,9)

(212) Be not ashamed to suffer as a Christian but be ashamed if you suffer as an evil doer. (1 Peter 4:15,16)

(213) Elders, feed the flock of God among you willingly, not for filthy money, but of a ready mind. Not as being lords over God's heritage, but being as examples of Christ to the flock. When the Chief Shepherd (Lord Jesus Christ) appears you shall recieve a crown of glory which does not fade away. (1 Peter 5:1-4)

(214) Youngsters, submit yourself unto the Elder(s). All of you be submissive one to another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5)

(215) Do not be led away with the error of the wicked but grow in grace and grown in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:17,18)

(216) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. (1 John 2:15-17)

(217) Keep yourselves away from idols. (1 John 5:21)

He that overcometh and keepeth my Commandments unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. God will give him the Morning Star. God will clothe him/her in white raiment and his/her name will not be blotted out from the Book of Life. I will write upon him/her a new name. I will grant him/her to sit with me in my throne. (Revelations 2:26-28, 3:5,12,21)

These are the Commandments found in the New Testament for help and guidance towards successful and deeper christian living. If we break any of the Commandments we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ (1 John 2:1,2). If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)

It is practically impossible to follow all the above commandments right from the time any human being is born-again and until death. We all falter now and then as we are human beings but we need to repent before God and continue our christian life until the end. If after reading these commandments, you start judging other christians then you have failed as a christian. We need to examine our own lives and judge ourselves and keep the Commandments. There are many such commandments in the New Testament. If you follow some of these commandments and despise another christian who is not able to follow the commandments then you have failed as a christian. Do not try to gauge other christians by these high standards but look at your own life and improve your own self. Pressurizing other christians (like a dictator) to follow the above commandments will only make you a beast because God allows each of His children to grow at his/her own pace.

I am altogether unworthy to write this article. But, i hope this will be as a general guidance to those who are new to the New Testament way of living.

May our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ grant us wisdom, grace and the power of the Holy Spirit so that we may be able to keep all His Commandments unto the end of our lives. Amen.

That's and interesting article you have shared Vinc. Where did you find it, if I may ask? (Author unknown)
I always thought the two commandments of Jesus (number 15 and 16) held precedence as commandments while the rest were instructional as guides of wisdom from God. If we follow the two commandments, we also hear and obey the rest of God's Word. I do have to say that being born again of God is a top priority. Thanks for sharing with me. I appreciate this and have copied it for my own study and use.

No mention Raphe. I consider it as my bounded duty to share any good article i come across. I agree that the 2 Great Commandments from Lord Jesus Christ is indeed sufficient. I think the rest of the commandments mentioned by the Author are a further explanation of the 2 Great Commandments only. Sadly, some of us don't take all of them as commandments and seriously follow them. We know that we have to love God (above all) and our neighbours but we don't know how (or what) exactly to do. And i guess this is what the article explains.
