  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My name is Blonde...Jamesd Blonde. Actually I wonder if they will dye his hair. I think it's a good choice. He is a throwback to the early Connery days and will take the series in a different direction. Like Batman Begins did for Batman.

Well, I think they maybe making a mistake....I hope they don't kill the whole franchise. I don't think he has the right profile (he's relatively obscure), the right charisma (he came across as a total prat in the press conference), even the looks to be Bond. Unfortunately, they turned down my application.... ;)

Clive Owen didn't want to be involved in the Bond franchise. He didn't want to be typecast as Bond. I hear they're abandoning alot of the commercial formula from the upcoming "Casino Royale" and make it more gritty. Make it more like a spy-thriller. Seems like Fleming will be dancing in his grave.

Well, as far as being obscure, you have to remember that Pierce Brosnan had only done about two well-known movies before he did Goldeneye, mostly he did TV series.

I was skeptical at first, but now I think Daniel will do a fine job as Bond, I'm not really sure how much charisma you need to have, I've always viewed Bond as a not-extremely-likeable guy and from what I've seen of Daniel, he can pull off the not-extremely-likeable characters.

Now I'm just wondering if/when they're going to dye his hair.

Even though Daniel Craig doesn't seem like the typical bond is a very good actor. If you want to see why he got the job just watch Layer Cake. He was pretty good in that and has a bond like presence in that film. But for sure I will miss Brosnan as Bond, he was the best since Connery.
