• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The new...er...not CF..that isn't it...Foru.ms?

I am a traditionalist on this issue as well. Bring back the name, Erwin! We Adventists will arrive outside your house with torches and demand you to change it! Lol, just kidding. But seriously, this is riduculous. It has just become another old social forum.

I don't know why Erwin has done this. General social forums are a dime a dozen.
I totally agree.

In this situation, I am a Traditionalist! Bring back the old Christian format I say!!
I agree with disclaimer: so long as it's post-7/7/7 rules. Not the "old guard" which was oppressive and pharisaical.

i am not at home in the secular world; they don't understand me. of course Xtians dont always understand me neither BUT at least they have more INTERESTING ways of not "getting it" than secular minds. :D

He bid what he felt the name was worth. He was not ripped.

Actually, I think it was a complete waste of money.

Unless there are things that we are not aware of about the name Christianforums, which brought up some trouble for Erwin, I think it was a foolish move on his part to spend $7000.00 on a new domain name just to make a point.

You have every right to think it was a waste of money. There is nothing you can do about it so that would be a waste of thinking.

I hope this stays mostly Christian. I have forums (Which I have been on ~10 years) which aren't, and I have freinds in real life who aren't, but I don't really have a place to discuss things with a Christian perspective (most people think I am crazy for not having casual/premarital sex) and Christian theology and issues.

I also have very few people who I interact with who are Christian (it is the one weakness of my current church).

Many things get falsely exonerated in the name of "just business". It appears for some, "business" is their God.

What a dull choice. If you're going to serve Satan at least do it right and get the bells and whistles. SHEESH!

Edited to add: the above is just banter/prattle -- I am NOT suggesting EITHER Erwin OR Senti serves Satan so don't take it that way please.

That's exactly how I feel. Most of my friends and family wouldn't understand my reasoning for certain things. As a 19 year old, a lot of my friends consider my life rather boring. ;) At least I feel like I belong here!!

Don't you think something is wrong with a group of people who claim they follow Jesus yet throw a fit because "sinners" are allowed into their presence?

Jesus says in Luke that He came to seek and save what is lost. Over an over again in the gospels we read about Him hanging out with the unrighteous and the "sinners" over the major religious leaders and "good people" of His day. His closest friends were cowards, thieves, terrorists, prostitutes, rednecks, and bad-tempered men.

If Jesus were registered as a user here on these forums, do you think He'd have a problem with people like that posting around Him, or would He prefer to have his own little corner of the internet where He could be "safe"?

No one's saying that they want to hide from it all. This forum wasn't aimed at only Christians before, and we were all fine with that. :) As I said, I have pleanty of non-Christian friends and in most cases those are the only people I'm around.

It's just something..somehow, sad about this change. For those who feel it, they understand. Those who don't, they don't. There's nothing wrong with either side of this because both are just looking for a different thing here.

but that excuse makes no sense..... already here you have christians who don't understand or agree with each other, and aren't trying to understand.... it could not be any worse with those who come and don't share the views of christianity....good points WesWoodell....
