Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Re 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Visions of Future Glory.--With Jesus at our head we all descended from the city down to this earth, on a great and mighty mountain, which could not bear Jesus up, and it parted asunder, and there was a mighty plain. Then we looked up and saw the great city, with twelve foundations and twelve gates, three on each side, and an angel at each gate.

We all cried out, "The city, the great city, it's coming, it's coming down from God out of heaven!" And it came and settled on the place where we stood. Then we began to look at the glorious things outside of the city. There I saw most glorious houses, that had the appearance of silver, supported by four pillars set with pearls most glorious to behold.

These were to be inhabited by the saints. In each was a golden shelf. I saw many of the saints go into the houses, take off their glittering crowns and lay them on the shelf, then go out into the field by the houses to do something with the earth; not as we have to do with the earth here--no, no. A glorious light shone all about their heads, and they were continually shouting and offering praises to God.

I saw another field full of all kinds of flowers, and as I plucked them, I cried out, "They will never fade!" Next I saw a field of tall grass, most glorious to behold; it was living green and had a reflection of silver and gold as it waved proudly to the glory of King Jesus. Then we entered a field full of all kinds of beasts--the lion, the lamb, the leopard, and the wolf, all together in perfect union. We passed through the midst of them, and they followed on peaceably after.

Then we entered a wood, not like the dark woods we have here--no, no; but light, and all over glorious; the branches of the trees moved to and fro, and we all cried out, "We will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods." {AH 547.1}

So.
Who wants to go?
What do you look forward to most?

I'm right beside you brother!

The first thing I want to do is behold my King's face, and look into His gentle eyes. I want to spend days, weeks, months, years praising Him for His sacrifice and for all the the wonderful blessings He bestowed upon me, this unworthy servant, while I was dwelling on the old earth.

The very next thing I'm going to want to do is be with all of the animals I can be. I want to sit on that beautiful grass and have a lion and/or a tiger come lay beside me and let me lovingly stroke their beautiful fur.

I'm getting as impatient as I used to get as a child, waiting to open gifts on Christmas morning.

Hurry Jesus, come back soon.

AMEN!

And I assume that all of us will want to see our Lord and God. What I'm really interested in at the moment is "the very next thing" as you put it.

For me, it's flying. Even before I piloted a plane I have everdremed of flying. I CAN'T WAIT!

Flying is second on my list...I have had dreams of soaring in the sky, like I had Eagle's wings. Incredible feeling.

All the treasures of the universe will be open to the study of God's redeemed. Unfettered by mortality, they wing their tireless flight to worlds afar--worlds that thrilled with sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed soul. With unutterable delight the children of earth enter into the joy and the wisdom of unfallen beings. GC 677

Will we be mortals or immortals?
Paul suggests that our mortality will be changed to immortality but John in Revelation 22:2 mentions the tree of life for "the healing of the nation." Now would that be of the same ilk as the tree of life mentioned in the Eden story where man was told he could eat freely of all (except the tree of knowledge of good and evil)? God decided to show Adam and Eve the exit sign after the Fall in Gen 3:22-23. If man could eat of that tree and live forever, will he be required to eat of that tree of life on the New Earth so he can live forever?

We are clearly wrong to read Paul to mean that we will be immortal. Adam ate of the tree of life before he sinned. If eating of the tree of life gave one the ability to live forever then he would not have to eat of eat on a regular basis because forever does not run out. Having eaten even God could not destroy him. The only conclusion is that we will only be immortal as long as God allows us to eat of the tree of life. The fact that we will never decide to rebell again will have the effect of immortality but it is not becasue we will be inherently immortal.

Off the top of my head, I believe that we will need to eat of the tree of life to live immortally. Our new glorified bodies will be perfect, but so was Adam's and he had to eat of the TOL to live forever.

We see in Isiah 66:23 that ,"it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD."

Notice we come before the LORD every "new moon" or month.

Re 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

To come before the LORD would mean coming to the Tree, in my estimation.

Verse 1. "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." The Tree is revealed here near the throne.

I did that deliberately. The Greek rendering of both English phrases are very similar. A scribe could easily make an error in transcribing the uncials. (Too many people believe they know Greek because they have access to a Greek text.)

Well technically both may not be correct... trying to track down why the difference in the translations..... hmmmmm

The KJV seems to have mistranslated this verse....
It depends on which text you use. The debate is not just between English versions. There is debate over whether one should use the Majority Text, the Minority Text, etc. I don't have my Greek Testament here but I think it was the Nelson something which probably was the Majority Text.
