I'll ask again, what's the nicest thing a complete stranger has ever done for you?

Let me go ahead of them in line because one of my children started crying and throw their back in an arc. Usually all a Mother can do is leave. But this nice person said I could go ahead of them....and then everyone in front of them said I could go ahead of them too.

You have to understand....this wasn't just a line in a grocery store. This was a line that couldn't be avoided. This was a line that I had already invested a long time in. This was a line that I would have to stand in later if not now. I couldn't afford a babysitter...and so I had to stand in this line with my child and hope that she would be okay. That one person's kindness, dripped over to every other person there. Those people had been there for hours already. And they didn't have to be kind or helpful...but they were.

What was the kindest thing you've done for someone you didn't know?

I babysat for two children who were throwing up so their parents could stay at the service at my Grandma's church.

Have you ever volunteered to do something you didn't want to do in the first place and then had a really great alternative come up, but knew you couldn't break your previous promise and so were completely miserable?

Yes. Recently in fact. I needed something and finally had the money for it...but the salesman and the cashier were so rude....I really should have left without buying it.

Yes, I had a hard time with responding with kindness and chose to ignore that person rather than say something I shouldn't have. Not the best solution...but all I could do at the time.
