Well, although that's a nice thought. We have to take into consideration that there are a lot of people that are not going to want to do their share. I think we need to do more than just be a little piece of peace ourselves. We need to not only change our way of thinking and interaction with each other...we need to actively change other peoples minds and hearts about our common goals and sense of community as well.

Do you actively practice a community ethic?

Probably the same reason I don't wear T-shirts that make people stop and read my chest. Although I like the idea of being able to encourage and edify fellow members. And have received such uplifting encouragement in kind. The jewels and the numbers being on display for everyone to see, seemed boastful. That, and with the onslaught of comments and jokes about insincerity and mockery of the system. It just became an embarassment. Personally, I've thought of asking Erwin if he would consider having the system without the jewels and points on display for others to see. Because at the heart of it, it is a tool for good. But I think I'm probably the only person that feels this way. So, I let it go.

Christianity is supposed to be a community ethic. But, If we can't even make peace amongst like believers, how then are we to believe we can practice a community ethic with those outside of our specific beliefs? So Yes Jon, Although I agree with you theoretically Christianity is designed to be a community ethic...in practice there is very little evidence of it.
