  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Interesting.
In the early days of my walk... about the first 10 years or so... I noticed that when I discussed the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the SPirit I would feel the anointing of the Spirit and get "happy."
However, as of late it is the Holiness of God and our call to perfection that gets me happy!
I think this is the result of the pull of the Spirit. About a year ago I began to pray for righteousness. I want to be a holy man. I want to run with Jesus and be buds with Him. I spent many nights in tearful prayer... desiring from God this level of righteousnes and closeness to God.
I have not shared this before because I was afraid people who think I was bragging or something.
About a month ago the Lord spoke to me in my heart. He said "I want you to be my friend." Which was very very exciting to me. But at the same time really more than I can comprehend. Since then some other things have changed. I have noticed, as I said before, that I now get "happy" about holiness and righteousness. When we talk about it (like we are here) the Holy Spirit comes upon me and I get bouncy.
Some of you know what that means.
Another thing that happened is that I have ceased to feel any anointing for teaching like I did in the first 30 years of my life. I believe my teaching ministry is over. Of course I can still teach.. and I still feel His Spirit when I do. But it is not the same.
He has something else going on in my spirit and life. I have had dreams that are showing me things that are difficult to understand. Not unusual for my dreams.

But Praise Him for His love.

Amen... this wacko is what I like!!

What other kind of sinlessness is there?

1 John 3:
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

You will never understand or experience it until you side with it. As long as you deny this verse and the rest of the truth about your ability to overcome the world it will remain wacky.
Thank you Jesus... He and I are righteous and holy Wackos together!!!!

What is your definition of "sinless"?

Sinless means having NO SIN within the body which is false since we are living in a sinful nature. Spiritually, we are sinless in a sinful body. My human body is subject to death (and is dying) because of sin, however my spirit is alive and renewing in Christ. My temorary body is decaying at the same time, my inner being is being renewed day by day (2 Cor 4:16). "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:25. I have learned that I am no longer "in the flesh": "You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him" (Rom 8:9). I have learned that "If Christ is in us, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness" (Romans 8:10). In other words, our human body is subject to death (and is already dying) because of sin, however our spirit is alive in Christ. We have eternal life in our possession, even though our body is dying because of sin. However, as Christians, our spirits are fully alive and thriving "because of righteousness"--because HE is justified and therefore already has "passed out of death into life" (John 5:24). "My temorary body is decaying at the same time, my inner being is being renewed day by day" (2 Cor 4:16).

As I said in Did's another thread, by holiness does not mean we will be sinless but we can be blameless. Only arrogants will say they are sinless.

Biblically, the emphasis is not about happiness but about holiness. God is more concerned about holiness in my heart more than about my emotional being (i.e. happiness). God commanded is to be holy (actually blameless) because He is holy (1 Peter1:16 & Lev. 11:44-45). Only God can provide happiness when I have Jesus Christ in my heart and only Jesus Christ can give me true happiness.

Those who are truly saved will be sensitive to sin and repent upon the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We sin daily (speeding without realizing, offending another (without intent) and many other unintentional sinful actions.

The key is: Does Christ rule your heart or does sin rule your heart? A person with Christ in the heart will still sin but we are reminded by the Word of God that God looks into our hearts for our spiritual obedience rather than perfection (Deeds). Our source is in the core which is the heart. Do we really obey God from our hearts? Do we make every efforts to obey God from our hearts? Or, do we really obey our sin without even trying to obey God? Are we saved by Grace or by Works of deeds? In measure of faith with works are listed in 2 Peter, Chapter 1, verses 5 through 9: "make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

My flesh cooperates only with what my spirit has decided to do.
I am so say for my fellow saints who know sin is wrong and even preach against it... but then turn right around and profess that it has power over them and that they cannot overcome it.

God says otherwise:

1 John 5:4
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

The is the reality of the Word and faith.
This is why I like running with people like you Q. You know this and keep it in your heart.
Friends of Jesus.

Interestingly enough, Lismore, Jesus said to love your enemies. Do you recall reading about some of his conversations with the Pharisees? Not always words of pure sweetness, were they. Did He fail to display the fruits of the spirit?
David often asked God to pronounce judgement on his enemies. Old Testament, you say? I say if you don't intimately know the God of the OT, but claim to know Jesus, you are a liar or a fool.
If you insult me and I anger, shame on me. If you defile the word of God, and I don't anger, again, shame on me. I may not know much, but I know Jesus didn't die so you could go on with a sinful lifestyle with impunity (not picking on you, Lismore, this is to the general threadmongers, let it rest where it may). I know God will not honor a marriage that ignores the requirements of the church and state. I know if you say those things, you are defiling his word.
Many of the same people who turned mightily on Mr. Haggard, are those who say there is no sin for those in Christ. Let me tell you, Haggard did not justify sin, he spoke truth. He sinned out of the weakness of his flesh, not out of disrespect for God's word. You who defile His word are the more guilty.

What they mean to me, is that I am so thankful that Jesus did a perfect and complete work on the cross by fulfilling the OT law and bringing in a covenant of grace, in His sinless perfect blood. When I beacame a new creation I became as sinless as the blood of Jesus which cleansed me of all unrighteousness. Jesus did it all and I have received the free gift of righteousness in Christ, by faith!

Jesus is my everything, He is my righteousness, holiness, healing, prosperity and without Him I can do nothing. I believe that there was a change after the cross.

Thank you Jesus for your amazing grace!

This is truly the exact message you believe God was trying to convey with these particular words?

Yo! Ever heard of diabetes? Eating disorders? Lack of economic privelege sufficient to buy any food but cheap carbs?

In any event, your offensive post has been reported.

Only whiners hide behind reporting posts instead of duking it out like an adult in forums

You don't need to report a post unless it's pornographic, or unless it supports anarchy, treason, or sedition. All other kinds of posts warrant people handling them like adults.

Ahem.... All members are encouraged to report posts that violate any of the rules we have here on CF. The goal of many of the rules is prevent people "duking it out" in an unChristian manner. There are many members who spend time here at CF because it is a safe and friendly environment compared to other forums.

It is not 'whining' to report posts that violate the rules we all agree to follow when we sign up here. That's the system we have and that's the system we all agreed to when we joined.

You're saying that we are suppose to have contentions?

I'm saying ...

Don't report a post, if you don't like it. Just argue with them. People use that Report Post button WAYYYY too much. It's quite childish, really.

Unless someone's posting how they're going to assassinate a political leader or something that rises to such a level, it doesn't need to be reported. The fact is, that some people can't handle posts which ruffle their feathers, so that Report Post button comes in quite handy for them.

[probably the same people who counted "1...2...3" at the water fountain in elementary school to stop you from getting enough water]

If mods read threads, they can pursue disciplinary actions.

PEOPLE DON'T REPORT POSTS BECAUSE OF RULE VIOLATIONS. THEY REPORT POSTS TO GET OTHER PEOPLE IN TROUBLE.

Like regular posters around here really care about rule violations ... yeah right
