Gideon, how does the fear of the Lord tie into your message?
Brother, I am not sure I am understanding where you are going with this question. Can you make it a bit more clear as to what you are asking?
I will say this. Once a man is broken from the failures in his life to walk pleasing to God and finally puts off the old nature by faith and puts on the new man, all fear of the Lord leaves. It is not that one loses respect, or the desire to honor God as the all powerful God of the Universe, for in this place, our respect and honor is elevated, not diminished. But fear of Him? Perfect love casts it out.
But until that time? If sin still has us at times, if willful rebellion to God exercising His rightful authority over us is still a part of who we are, then we need to fear. To use the forgiveness portion of the new covenant while rejecting God's call to make Him Lord of our life is a sin of no small proportion. If we find ourselves there, we need to fear....and fear greatly.
To desire Heaven but not the holiness and purity that make it heavenly is revealing a traitor still alive within us. It is our old nature, and it must die. We are all being led into the valley of decision where we will be asked by our God to choose:
"Who will reign in you? Me or You?"
This question will not go away. We can ignore it for only so long until at some point, our refusal to choose IS our choice.
If I have not answered what you are looking for, feel free to expound a little so I can better answer you.
Blessings,
Gideon
