  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Too funny Wols.

But I thought you were born into the "new Mass" and never experienced the "old Mass?"
Well, I was born in 1960, so I still vaguely recall the Tridentine Rite from that time, although I was pretty small. The changes started taking place when I was about six or so. I have attended Tridentine Masses since then, though, so I know what they were like.

And I gotta tell ya---if given my choice between a priest progressing slowly up the main aisle swinging a censor, dressed in a jeweled cope held up by two acolytes, or a priest dressed in a clown suit prancing out onto the altar platform with balloons in one hand and the Book of Gospels in the other while a polka band plays in the choir loft, I'll take the former, thank you very much.

Could the Church give parishes more discretion, so that the "abuses" are no longer abuse?

Rather subjective though, no?

What's the point of universaility if everyone is running around doing their own thing? And for example, if a person visits an outside parish (if they're on vacation for example) they can't even tell if they've stepped into a Catholic Church or not?

Well, I have highlighted some of the MOST DISGUSTING parts of the MOST DISGUSTING poem I have ever read. A parody huh? Well, you have to begin with a shred of truth to have a parody. Here there is not even a shred. Perhaps you should find a better way to spend the wee hours of the morning. It seems as though you have quite a bit of anamosity for the Church.

the statues and the Stations in the garbage pile? Not in my parish, or any that I have been in.

As down the aisles they run
Screaming at liturgical dancers This one I havn't seen either. Not even close.

The bongo players were quick to agree
"Never mind the priest---you should listen to ME!" Don't think so, Not funny.

And goats-head tattoos with five-pointed stars. What does this mean? Do you even realise what you are saying?

Does anyone else see the humor in this?
Not so much humor in that I am laughing at it, but that is not exactly what all parodies are meant to be......

I do understand though, why is it that things were changed? Why simply because they might be more appealing? It worked for so many years the other way.... Do we bow to the people or do we bow to God in His wishes.... It seems that as of late these type of changes are happening more and more all over the place.... And for those of us that have chosen Traditionalism this is something that is saddening to see. In front of our Lord we show the greatest of Disrespect..... how did this ever happen?
