Jesus Heals Many

"At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of illness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, 'You are the Son of God!' But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah."
Luke 4:40-41.

I felt unwell for several days and I asked friends to pray for me, and they did pray, and some people wrote their prayers in an email and PM for me. I found reading their prayers very comforting indeed. As I have been reading about Jesus healing people, I asked Him to heal me. Today, I feel so much better than I have felt. I would like to believe I am fully healed, but I think perhaps I need another couple of days rest. It would be wonderful if Jesus appeared today and started laying His hands on many, healing them.

Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of Fish

The disciples fished all night and they caught nothing. In the morning Jesus appeared to them by the shore. They did not realise it was Jesus. This was the third time Jesus' had appeared to them since His Resurrection.

Jesus told them to cast their net to the right side of the boat. They did as He asked, and they caught a large catch of fish.

The disciple John recognised it was the Lord and as soon as Peter heard this, he wrapped his outer garment around him and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed towing the net of fish.

What I noticed about this miracle is: in verse six, John wrote: "Jesus said, 'Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.' When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."

And in verses ten and eleven, John wrote: "Jesus said to them, 'Bring some of the fish you have just caught.' So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn."

John said they were unable to haul the net in, because of the large number of fish. Yet, when Peter realised it was Jesus speaking to them, Peter was able to drag 153 large fish from the boat to the place where Jesus was sat on the beach, and the net was not torn.

Jesus rose from the dead, and He was there by the Lake of Galilee to help His disciples. He made sure they caught a good catch of fish.

Jesus is the same today as He was on that day. He will provide all we need for our daily lives, and He is true to His word. All we need to do is hear His voice and do as He instructs us, and then we will receive all that our heart desires, in the same way His disciples received the fish which they desired.

Jesus Heals a Man with Leprosy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7oJ3SDmVTA

A man with leprosy came to Jesus, fell on his knees and begged him to heal him. He said: "Jesus, You can make me clean if You want."

Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man and said: "I am willing; be clean."

Immediately the leprosy left him and he was clean. Jesus told him to go to the temple and see the priest. He said make the sacrifices for your cleansing as Moses instructed as a testimony, and do not tell this to anybody.

The man did not listen to Jesus, and he went about spreading the news about what Jesus had done for him. This meant Jesus could not go openly into any of the towns, because everyone crowded in on Him. So He was forced to retreat to solitary places; yet the people still found Him.

This is the eleventh story, Jesus Heals a Man with Leprosy, which is recorded in Mark Chapter 1 verses 40-45.

Jesus Heals the Centurion's Servant

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNLSBjYDPko

Jesus entered into Capernaum and a Centurion came up to Him, saying his servant was paralysed and was suffering greatly. Jesus said: "Shall I come and heal him?"

The Centurion said: "I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; I know if you just give the word, then my servant will be healed."

Jesus was amazed by the Centurion's faith and He said: "Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that moment.

This is the twelfth story, Jesus Heals the Centurion's Servant, which is recorded in Matthew Chapter 8 verses 5-13.

The Centurion believed his servant would be healed if Jesus commanded the healing. He simply asked Jesus to heal his servant, and there were no doubts or fears in his mind. It was a pure and simple faith which brought forth the complete healing of his servant.

I wonder what the conversation was in the boat when the disciples caught no fish. I imagine they missed Jesus' presence, and I think their hearts must have prayed: "Lord, help us to catch some fish please?"

One day, two people who could not see came to look for the Lord. They followed him and called, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them,

“Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then he touched
their eyes and said, “According to your faith
will it be done to you”; and their sight was
restored.
