the methadone monster

if anyone here is currently off of methadone or on the program please respond. i've been off of methadone for just over 2 months and i have been sober for 33 days off of everything. i am doing much better then i was, but my body is still sick. i dont really have pain in my bones anymore but i'm still not really eating much and the depresion is getting to me at times. i'm miles away from where i was months ago, but it is a slow process. i still have a long ways to go mentally and physically.

prayers for you. I am a big cold turkey fan but heroine is a monster. I kinda view methadone as a cheap substitute. one day at a time. u can stay sober.

You are right on when you say monster! You are blessed! your off and still alive! I could not go cold turkey, so I say good for you, I had to go to a clinc, they take you off a little at a time. Hang in there it does get better all around!

Ya it will go away, when i use to do harder drugs i quit but i have a sronger will than most all i do is say i dont want it no more and i dont feel the side effects anymore (i guess its werid i can do the same with pain if im hurting i can zone it out)

I would never call Methodone a monster, People will diagree with me but, I call it something that keeps all " HIGH " away from you! If you tried to do anything again, pills, drinking, ect. It is a blocker from that High.
That's what it did for me. I only used ( not only ) pain meds from my doctor but, I abused them so bad that for 2 years I didn't have a life!
That's when the meds brought out my depression. I needed a little help from depression meds but, I'm ok!!! I have been off pain meds for going on 3 years! I would tell anyone to go that way if they couldn't go " cold turkey"
That's my opionion!!
Praise to you and yours for your problem was also your famililes problem.
