Friedman is just as eschatological as some Christian preachers are. Messiah is coming...yes He is. That's it.

Well because there is no temple. So either the temple is built and He comes or He comes and builds the temple. Either way He is coming...Friedman never says He is physically here.

But when he does appear he’s referring to a physical man not some mysterious mystical force like in Star Wars right?

It's about signs...the Nations are more interested in Torah...red heifers....etc...Messiah is coming.

Yes the expectations and signs seems to suggest that the time is near for the Jews
