I’m more curious that few notice
How would most people notice something like that?

Also when gauging the size of the Mediterranean Sea and the location of Africa, what about looking for comparisons in older printed maps?

If Africa was shifting north, the place where it would first be noticed, is the Straight of Gibraltar, where Africa nearly touches Spain. Also the Suez Cannal and Port Said would become disjointed if Africa was drifting north.

I understand your reluctance to accept the strange and unusual
This has nothing to do with my acceptance of "the strange and unusual". This has everything to do with your inability to understand how continental drift and plate tectonics have major consequences. If Africa is moving north at the speed you claim there would be massive earthquakes, new mountain ranges, changes to coast lines, differences in climate etc. But all you claim is a slight change to a map.

That doesn't really explain how old maps change without changing. In other words former names of countries, cities, towns and political boarders have changed quite a lot on maps over the last 100 years. Or even the last 10 years. The same is true of satellite images of the Earth. Buildings appear and disappear as they are built and demolished. Neither maps nor satellite images are static.

Africa moved a long time ago, recently…
