We discussed this before, but now I am submitting this in a poll format. I have broken the discussion down into three basic categories.

How are you seeking to find someone in your life?

1. God will provide - I just going about my daily business doing what I need to do, and when God's timing is right He will move someone into my life or move me into someone else life. I am trusting this in His hands 100%

2. I am helping God out. - I know God will provide, but I am making a concious effort to put myself in places and situatons to meet new people. I am using Christian dating sites, doing volunteer work, takings classes and attending as many social events as I can.

3. The Mary Poppins Theory - Lawn Chair, Sunglasses, and a glass of tea are all I need. I am just sitting in my front yard waiting for God to send someone down.

I'm not really sure which catigory I'm under. I know that God will provide - when I'm ready, He will send the right person to me. However I do get involved. My intentions are not to meet someone special, although I know that would be a plus. How is God supposed to introduce us to that special person if we don't ever socialize etc.

I believe that God will help you find someone, but you have to pull your share of the load. For that reason, I picked the second option, but I'm not looking too hard. I like being single. Besides, I don't have any money, and girls are expensive. Kinda narrows my options a bit. :D

I voted God will provide. In the past when I decided that I needed to give God a hand in this area, things didn't go so well. So I have decided that perhaps it's time for me to just give this to Him. Now, I am not setting on my couch and expecting the UPS man to deliver an express package to my doorstep from God. I think you do need to get involved in ministries and not become complacent. Who wants to date a couch potato? But, I am trying to not make finding someone an idol in my life or at least having it take control over everything else.

I voted "God will provide". I'm not actively looking for an SO right now anyway, and I'm not even sure that I'm "cut out" to be married. I figure that if God wants me to be married, He will send me the right person. in the meantime, I'm concentrating on other things.

I'm young, unprepared for marriage, and impatient. But if God so wills it, He will bring me someone. Just when I meet an attractive, genuinely Christian girl and have befriended her and romantic interest develops, I don't want to become emotionally attached as I have in the past, despite all the promising "signs" I might see. Furthermore, I want God to help me trust in Him and love Him properly before He brings a wife into my life. I want to be certain that God is my first priority, and that I don't put any prospective mate above His wishes for my life.

My vote went to God will provide when I am ready again.

I have alot of "getting right with God" to do.......

My last relationship was a farce. It was based on lust and it ended horribly as these things are apt to do.
The good that came out of it was me realizing that perhaps seeking out someone so that I you are not alone isn't the best course of action :) .

Trust and love God and it will be provided when the time is right.

I put myself in the Mary Poppins Theory section. I was torn between that and God will provide. The thing that made my choice, is the trusting God 100%. I try to just leave it totally and completely in His hands, but often times I find myself taking it back for a while before realizing my mistake and trying to hand that aspect of my life back over to Him.

I am waiting for God to send me someone, but I can't honestly say I'm 100% giving it over...so I took the choice that knocked out the 100%.
