Is it just the bible drawn manga style, or does Jesus shoot lasers, or something?

Dude, why would Jesus need to shoot lasers? He does miracles! That could land it in the magic/mystical category if you think about it.

Looks interesting. I may pick it up and flip through it at the bookstore, but I don't think it owuld cause me to want to read the Bible more. Then again, I've been a Christian my entire life, so the Bible is cool enough to me on it's own.

It may very well intrigue avid comic book/manga readers though! It's an intersting concept...one that I was wondering if they'd ever go through with.

The sencond cover picture needs blood though. He's wearing a crown of thorns for crying out loud. It looks too clean, like He put it lightly on His head Himself.

I've seen a manga Bible before... of course it was completely Japanese text so that was a problem It was much more simplistic than those, too, but it was really neat. All I hope is it's accurate enough!

lol, it should be, even though japan is a REALLY bad nation when considering christianity, but so, should be pretty accurate

Honestly, I'd like to see movie, anime, comic, whatever featuring accurate depiction of the Bible. No white Jesus, nails go in the wrist instead of the palm, Judges would be rated NC-17, etc. And don't include ideas that are commonly believed to be Biblical but aren't actually in the Bible (satan is never mentioned as being in charge of hell, for example, neither does it explicitly say that Mary Magdeline was a prostitute).

Jesus Chainsaw Massacre (AKA "The Passion of the Christ") doesn't count, it's based off of visions a nun had (which I don't have a problem with, but I want to see a Biblical movie), everyone was white, the Romans would have hired locals or foreigners for grunt work (so the Roman soldiers would have been speaking Aramaic, Koine Greek, not Latin), and the nails went into Christ's palms (which would have slipped through since there's no bones to hold them in, the nails would have gone in the wrist).
