Has anybody heard or are you aware of the Mandela effect or phenomena?

Named after the late Nelson Mandela who some may have a memory of Nelson Mandela dying in jail in the 1980s and others remember him dying in 2013.

Any way this phenomena has left evidence of changes in earths history and effected ads, animals, buildings, geographies, movies, music, products, and people etc.

One of the changes of this phenomena is words in the King James version bible(KJV) had been replaced with alternative words and I’m not referring to a new addition being reprinted.

I’m talking about the KJV bibles sitting in peoples book shelves for years where the words in specific chapter’s and verses had miraculously been changed for the original words with alternative words.

Please check out these chapters and verses your self, and try and remember the original verse and then observe the alternative words in there place.

Mandela Effect is a sham. It takes little quirks and misrepresents them, such as...

Preachers would say this a lot, but it's not a quote from scripture.

It is a way to “Wow” people over a vague memory that SEEMS true, such as the quote above “I could have sworn my King James used to READ this way!!” No, the VAGUE memory is that preachers would SAY it that way yet it was written in your Bible another way.

I had someone talking to me about this before, their one example was that the “Box of chocolates...” line from Forest Gump got changed. And people constantly had that “You’re right!!!” reaction because they definitely remembered “Life IS like a box of chocolates” but (says the Mandela Effect) the word IS got changed.

Do you know what the trick is? The trick is that the box of chocolates line was not only said one time in the movie. And the slight difference was between the way it was said in the different parts of the movie. But sure enough the Mandela Effect videos on YouTube were toying with you memory because you REMEMBER FOR A FACT that it was said one way...but the YouTube video would of course only show the clip of when they said it the other way in the movie. It’s a sham.

There are other examples, just treat them like they are, they are memory parlor tricks and you just have to figure out the little tid bit that they aren’t telling you. They’re like riddles.

I’m not sure whether or not all the current interest in the Mandela effect is an indicator of the end times, but I do suspect we are nearing the end. In Matt 24, when the disciples asked what the sign of Jesus’ coming and the end of the age would be, Jesus replied by telling them about wars and rumors of wars, and famines, and persecution of His people. All these things are happening. Wars and military clashes seem to be happening constantly these days, about 800 million people are now suffering from malnutrition according to the latest statistics I read, and even if you haven’t experienced persecution personally a viewing of http://www.insanityofgodmovie.com will tell you how extreme persecution is these days. All that is pretty convincing evidence that we’re coming to the end.

The important thing about living in the end times is being prepared for Jesus’ return. Jesus said, “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

The first step in being ready for Jesus’ return would be ensuring that you’re on the right side. Matt 25:32 says that when He comes He will separate people into two groups. The last verse in that chapter says that one group will go into eternal punishment and the other into eternal life.

I point this out because I fear that while people are busy putting all that time and energy into researching things like Mandela effect, they forget to stop and consider whether they’re even sure if they have a place at Jesus’ right side.

On the last day, if Jesus says to someone, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” it will do that person no good to respond, “But I know all about the Mandela effect. I watched every Youtube clip on it.”

I recommend that we research salvation and avoid getting distracted with lesser issues.

In Matt 24, when the disciples asked what the sign of Jesus’ coming and the end of the age would be, Jesus replied by telling them about wars and rumors of wars, and famines, and persecution of His people. All these things are happening.

SkyWriting, you make a good point. A lot of persecution happened to Jesus’ disciples, and they experienced famine. I can’t think of a Bible passage that says they experienced wars and rumors of wars, but it wouldn’t surprise at all if they did.


In the midst of talking about the wars and famine and persecution, Jesus says, “but the end is not yet”, so I guess that means war and famine and persecution are not an indicator that we’ve reached the end. “The end is not yet” means those are just the things that have to happen some time before the end, but perhaps they could go on for centuries before the end.


As I reread Matthew chapter 24 I see that the final thing that has to happen before the end comes is that the gospel has to be proclaimed throughout the whole world (Matt 24:14).


Even that, however, is a little vague. What does it mean to have the gospel proclaimed? Here in Canada (where I am) we’ve had the gospel available to us since long before I was born, so in that sense the gospel has certainly been proclaimed here, but I still find that the majority of the people I talk to about it have no idea what the gospel really is. They think it’s a music style or something like that. The idea of a revelation of the means by which we can be reconciled to God and delivered from eternal damnation doesn’t even enter their minds. So, in the sense of really proclaiming something so that it’s made known, the gospel hasn’t even begun to be seriously proclaimed around here.


So when Jesus says the gospel “will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”, does that mean that at least a few gospel tracts will be left in each nation incase anyone has the time and inclination to read, or does it mean that the gospel will be made unequivocally clear to every person so that every individual will either be saved or be completely without excuse, or does it mean something in between those two extremes?


Bottom line: after examining the passage carefully I still can’t say what exactly the prerequisites for Jesus’ return are, so I can’t say for sure if He will return during our generation or not.


In my previous post I said, “The important thing about living in the end times is being prepared for Jesus’ return”. I would still say it’s important to be prepared for Jesus’ return. If we don’t know whether he’s coming tonight a hundred years from now, then we should be prepared at all times. Even if we knew he’s not coming for another hundred years, all of us who are posting here are pretty sure to die before then, and that could happen tonight for all we know, so that still means we need to be prepared at all times.


Instead of saying, “The important thing about living in the end times is being prepared for Jesus’ return” I should have said, “The important thing about living in ANY TIME is being prepared for Jesus’ return”.

God will announce the coming Kingdom, then it will come for believers.
