CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We get out for Thanksgiving next Friday. My mother has deemed that I must come to school with her sometime the week we're off. I guess I'll se you all won't I. Don't know what I'm gonna do all day

I guess you could just hang out in the art room all day. Hmm, my brother and sister will be home that week, too. Additionally, we get Wednesday through Friday of that week off, so that's nice. This might be the first Thanksgiving week I get to spend doing nothing in a long, long time. Then again, emphasis is on "might be"...

I think she'll proly keep me in her room. I wish I could do nothing. I have a calc test. Still trying to figure out the teacher. And Sometime this weeknd I have to figure out next semester's schedule. Yuck. Have fun being lazy.

Umm...pretty much just pick a subject to write about where you have some interest, where you can become invigorated in your defense of your position. Something that you feel strongly about.

Anyway, you are supposed to list our the arguments of reason that he uses on the left side of the "T" Diagram and the emotions he uses/stirs in his readers on the other side. Once that is complete, you are supposed to write in your Reader's Log (or whatever its called) and talk about how you felt about the essay.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!...though it is a day late. I'm sorry, I'm afraid I've been sucked into the black hole of video games for the last couple of days and have done absolutely nothing. Drat. I was hoping to get a lot done on my book...oh well, there is tomorrow...and some of the next day at least.
