As some of you may have seen the show, I appologize for the following summary. If you have not and wish to, this summary has alot of spoilers. I strongly suggest if you have not seen it and would like to, to either allow for spoilers or not join this thread. If you have any questions please PM me. For those of you who have not seen this, it will be quite complicated to understand.
The Lost Room was a mini-series special on the Sci-Fi Channel, a link on the mini-series is here: The Lost Room. Please review the sci-fi site for more detailed information than what I am providing.
There is a motel room which does not exist, room #10 from the Sunshine Hotel. In this room are various objects which in the room do nothing, but outside have amazing properties. Once out of the room, these objects cannot be destroyed and they are watched by various obsessive groups and individuals to either track or claim (including The Order and The Legion). There are various places one can buy information on objects (such as where they have been and who may currently own one). This all takes place in the modern world of 2007.
Only the objects can survive a room 'reset' which occurs each time the key holder leaves and reopens the door. In this reset, all other things dissappear (hence the series where Joe's daughter dissappears). When the objects are placed back in the room, they appear in their orginal 1961 positions once the door is reopened. Objects can only be destroyed in this room and their powers do not work in this room.
The Legion seek to collect the objects to keep them safe and to one day return them to the room to restore reality. Jennifer Bloom is leader of this group and is in love with Joe Miller.
The Order believes the objects are a direct line to God and once all of them are together, one may become God. Dr. Martin Ruber is a man recently joined with these crazy folks and believes he is the prophet of the occupant. He owns the deck of cards and the eyeglasses.
Individuals who own the objects are seeked by all around and often murdered to possess what they have. Notable characters are the Weasel who once owned the pen and tried to steal the key. Wally owns the bus ticket which he is very fond of sending people who annoy him to "hell" (look up Bus Ticket in list for understanding of this statement). Karl Kreutzfeld, now dead, was a major collector who sought to bring back his dead son.
Joe Miller, which the mini-series was based on, was the Motel Man (meaning he had the Key) and is now the new Occupant after killing the orginal to save his daughter, Anna. The Occupant wanted to end his torchered life of being an object and so went into the room which is the only place objects can be destroyed. Joe became the new occupant meaning outside he cannot be destroyed or age. As Occupant, he can also bend the objects to his will and repell or attract them.
A good list of all of them here: Object List
Or as listed below:
Objects Used in Show:
The Key - Most powerful, opens any door with a pin-tumbler lock and opens the door to the Hotel room. Though this room does not actually exist in real space, the room does exist through the key. After one is in the room, one can imagion the door you want to exit out of anywhere in the world (only if you had been there and seen it) and you can be there. If you do not imagion a door, it chooses randomly.
The Comb - Stops time for 10 seconds, however everything is unmoveable during this time. Does cause nausea after use.
The Scissors - Rotates things in 3D space of any size or mass, either from the inside or out
The Bus Ticket - Transports one to Route 66 infront of an old abandoned house just outside of Gallup, New Mexico. Down the road is the Hotel and one must walk or use the key to return. A man named Wally holds this object and frequently sends people to "hell" as he calls it.
The Clock - Sublimates bronze (turns bronze directly from solid to gas)
The Quarter - Reanimates past or living memories (such as people) for three days or so. Must be swallowed.
The Watch - Hardboils eggs (Hands frozen at 1:20)
The Pen - Deadly, can litterally cook someone if touched by the ballpoint of the pin from the inside out leaving the clothes intact.
The Eyeglasses - Prevents combustion for a twenty foot radius, including preventing guns from firing, cars on fire blowing up, and otherwise fire around the person.
The Deck of Cards - Shows startling visions to people shown it and allows the owner to see if the person subjected is telling the truth. Leaves long lasting and devastating effects on victums.
The Razor - Shatters any glass on contact
The Polaroid - Simply a black photo, but when taken to the site where the room ought to be, shows the room how it was in May 4, 1961
Cufflink #1- Lowers blood pressure.
The Flask - When opened, allows holder to suffocate a targeted victim.
Glass Eye - Very powerful, can repair or destroy ALL flesh.
Nail File - Induces brief but deep sleep when sunlight hits the victim's eyes.
Pencil - Creates US pennies when tapped on a solid surface
The Portrait - Of a young man and woman at their wedding. The young man is Eddie McCleister (the orginal Occupant) and his wife Mabel Smith who does not know him. Though on the back in Mabel's handwriting it says "Summer 1959."
Radio - Allows user to grow three inches taller if tuned to the correct station
Umbrella - The user can be seen by others as someone they recognize
Watchbox - Dampens entropy (prevents decaying) for 10 meters. (Conroy Experiment)
Combinations of Objects:
Watch and Butterknife - Telepathy
Comb, Key, Watchbox - alternate dimension of Room 9
Conroy Objects are placed together to open a 'rift in time and space' which could destroy the universe if the door is not closed.
Objects where Power is unknown:
Trench Coat (Can be used as a bullet proof vest as objects cannot be destroyed)
Astray (Conroy Experiment)
Axe
Bar of Soap
Bible
Bedspread
Cufflink #2

Drinking Glass
Ice Bucket
Jacket
Knife
Left Shoe
Lamp
Left Sock
Liquor Bottle
Matchbook
Magnifying Glass
Nail Clippers (Conroy Experiment)
Pack of Cigarettes (Conroy Experiment)
Right Shoe
Ruler
Suitcase
Toothbrush (Conroy Experiment)
Wallet
Flashlight
Letter Opener
Characters from Show:
Joe Miller - Key Holder, new Occupant (Star_Splitter87)
Anna Miller - Joe's daughter
Julianna Margulies - Joe's girlfriend and head of the Legion. Has Nailfile, comb, watchbox, anything the Legion has.
The Weasel - Once owned Pen and tried to at first kill Joe and steal the key. Had kidnapped Anna which led to her dissappearance.
Suzie Kang - Object tracker in back of laundramat. Costs big money to get information from her.
Dr. Martin Ruber - Was a floresic doctor for the police and worked with Joe, but went insane after discovering of the objects and being left in the desert for several days. Now works for the Order and believes he is the prophet of the Occupant. Has Eyeglasses, deck of cards, anything the Order has.
Det. Lee Bridgewater - Recently made aware of the world of Objects, was attacked with the Deck of Cards by Martin Ruber in his escape.
Wally Jabrowski - Owner of the Bus Ticket, great knowledge of objects. Helps Joe out a great deal and they become friends after he sends him to "Hell" once or twice using the Bus Ticket (look above for more info on Bus Ticket).
All other characters are subject to individual RPGers and all objects (in addition to what I have listed) or unknown powers of objects must be approved by me. No repeats and limit of three to four objects depending on power of them. RPG rules as usual. Romance acceptable if clean. Time is modern time so no 'swords of light' or anything.
Any questions on this very long post, please PM me.
