Because as Ravi says, to give truth to one who does not love the truth is to only give them more ammunition for misunderstanding.
Then why are you talking with me then?
If you cannot reach me then there is no use talking with me.
Or are you just here to insult me like you have done before?
Also, have you considered that explaining the passage and it's context might help somebody else?
Nobody in their right mind would ever look at that passage and see what you see there. If you could see the truth, and if you loved the truth, you would have never quoted a verse that clearly discredits and denies everything that you are about, and somehow try to spin it to make it support the very thing it is teaching against.
But that's not really a word by word commentary of the verse that helps to prove your case here, though.
Don't do it for me, but do it for a fellow brother.

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed" (John 8:31).....

....
Jason, that is a flat-out lie. No one here has stated that. You have accused this over and over and over and despite being corrected mu,ltiple times, you persist in bearing false witness about it. Every time you do so, you remove yourself that much farther from your "goal" of "sinless perfection". In fact, in doing so, you are involved in willful and persistent sin. The very kind of sin you are so critical of, and assume your opponents are engaged in continually. Remember what Jesus said about removing the beam from your own eye before attempting to remove the speck from your brothers' eye?. That applies to you in this instance, as though that Scripture was written and recorded just for you.
Stop with the false accusations, bearing false witness, and outright sinning against your brethren. Your theology needs to be re-thought, because you've gotten some parts of it horribly and fatally wrong.
LOL. You prove my point well. You do not love scripture. You use scripture to hide behind. You use it as a smoke screen to try and prevent others from seeing your folly.
You know. People laughed at Jesus in an insulting way. What do you think you are doing?
You're not Jesus. And no one is laughing at you because of some delusion you have that you are being persecuted in the same way and for the same reasons as Jesus was.
Jesus said,
"If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; "
(John 15:20).
"You", is not you. But it's big of you to think so of yourself.
Jesus said,
35 "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."
(Matthew 12:35-37).
Like I said, you hide behind scripture.
We are commanded to preach the Word (2 Timothy 4:2).
Also, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4).
Then preach the Word....preach Jesus. And stop preaching your ungodly doctrine of works.
Jesus does the works in a believer if Jesus is living in a person.
For Jesus said we can do nothing without Him (John 15:5).
But if one does not have Jesus, means one does not have life or salvation (1 John 5:12).
No Jesus, means they do not have any fruit or works.
Which means they are denying Him in works (Titus 1:16).
For faith without works is dead (James 2:17).
