  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Law

It's interesting.

I'll admit that I didn't have time to read all 34 pages in depth, but I did find this statement to be a little troublesome :

But, we might ask the question, ‘if the law is written on our hearts by the Spirit under the new covenant, why do we still need the law? Don’t we now walk by the Spirit?’ Well, yes and no.
(page 26)

...

For so it shall be until the promise of the new covenant is fully realised, and the law shall be written perfectly over a new heart of resurrected flesh. For only then, in that kingdom, will we at last know true ‘singleness of heart and action so that we will always fear him’ (Jeremiah 32:39). Only then will no one any longer have to teach his brother or neighbour to know the Lord, for ‘all shall know him from the least of them to the greatest’ (Jeremiah 31:34).
(pages 28, 29)

Considering that I wasn't able to find any attempt at actually describing the requirements of the New Covenant, I have to say it was spoken like someone who has only circled the door but has never entered to see the kingdom.
