I have to admit, I was a little reluctant to tell him that I suspect it’s an April Fool’s joke, since that means he’s likely to go back to being a creationist. But one of the advantages of evolution over creationism is that its supporters don’t have to rely on false information in order to support it scientifically, so I don’t feel like I really had any other choice.

BBC have a long standing reputation for really good April Fool jokes, dating back to the Panorama report on spaghetti trees in 1957.
